A much closer game than the score indicates. My opponent advanced in an arrow shaped formation with a lot of hard hitting knights in the centre. His light javelin caused me to break formation and it quickly became a slugfest. I was able to weather the storm just about and get in a few flank attacks with my crossbow men and spear units. Very good game and pleased to get the victory in the end. Thanks to my opponent.

Pergamene [Chris Townsend] asserts its independence and challenges the Antigonid (and allies) [IMC] to return to Greece.
Pergamene, as the premier parchment producer, has a vested interest in record keeping, and therefore proposed that the challenge be Slitherine ranked.

My last two games in Imperial have been very tough. I could have easily lost this one. I made a strong comeback near the end to snatch it. Alexmike played very well and will finish high, I think. Thanks.

lunecastle Aragonese 1275-1319

The Aragonese formed a solid column that was protected on its right flank by woods and marched towards the low hills that were on the Portuguese left. The Portuguese brought lots of missile troops hoping to hide in the patches of rough ground in the centre of the battlefield. I did bring just enough knights in my centre to hold up the advancing Aragonese. there were also just enough spearmen to hold off the almughavars who launched themselves at my infantry. The Aragonese holy knights did manage to burst through my centre taking out some unfortunate crossbows caught out of position. Everyone else held in the centre and despite being shot up a bit managed to stop me being outflanked on my left. Then my right flank arrived and smashed into the flanks of the Aragonese. Aided by missile fire from the low hills the Spanish were picked apart by the Portuguese. I had all the luck in the shooting and the evade paths rear and flank charging all over the place. Moral of the story is - do not let a load of cavalry onto your flank whilst committed to a frontal assault. To be fair my left flank was looking decidedly unhappy but the battle was already lost before their advantage could have any effect.

				Division A
Chris Townsend's Dailami 1056 defeated Bagatrix1805's German City NW 1488 (and German feudal allies) 60 to 50.
The two armies somehow managed to meet in an open desert. Each side deployed their infantry in their nice defensive enclosure, but eventually tired of that and sallied out. The Dailami tried to dance their cavalry around the slower German knights, but the two German Keil provide combined arms support through their invulnerability to flank attacks. Eventually some knights were trapped, but not without loses, including to the Dailami infantry advancing on the other side into the remaining German knights, who convincingly demonstrated that knights, not infantry, are the best impact troops!
in the centre, the Dailami skirmishers and some rear attacks by Bedoiun light horse supported a complete disintegration of both army's battle lines, and flank attacks started to be routine. In the end, the Dailami numbers won the day in the chaos, with the German's essentially reduced to their two two Keil and three knights.
The Dailami where also exhausted and left those heavy units alone as they proudly left the battle field.
A good if chaotic game!
