Slitherine

So we are now one third of the way through the season and we are well ahead of schedule in terms of completing all the matches on time. The breakdown of the sections is as follows (each division has 45 games to play):

Classical Antiquity
A 16/45
B 31/45
C 34/45
D 28/45

Early Middle Ages
A 25/45
B 32/45
C 22/45
D 32/45

High Middle Ages
A 24/45
B 36/45
C 34/45
D 32/45

As you can see from these figures 10 of the 12 division have completed over half their matches already and some of these are rapidly approaching the 75% mark. Even the slowest division, which is Classical Antiquity A, is still just about on schedule to complete their matches by the deadline - many of the players in this division were involved in the later stages of The Slitherine Trophy as well as the Eternal Empire themed event but these commitments are largely fulfilled now. The other relatively slow division is Early Middle Ages C and that was hamstrung a bit by having the only non-starter in the tournament, but he has now been replaced by a very active player and the completion rate should quickly improve.

The committee's main task over the next few weeks will be to chase up those few players whose individual completion rate suggests that they might not get all their matches done by 31/12. But overall, we are very, very pleased with the way this tournament is progressing.

Very exciting battle. I tried to help the right wing of my army with the "lakes" on the map but the Italian's army tired the Khazars with the bows.
