Division A
Klayeckles (kyrenean) defeats youngr (Babylonian) 61-48
Kyreneans got off to an early start, dominating the open country, but the babylonians took refuge in the woods and rough land and the kyreneans had no choice but to follow if they wanted a victory. the battle turned into a slog fest with General youngr's troops slowly fighting their way back to near even. finally, as night closed in some bowmen broke from sheer exhaustion and the battle was over. Div B
Nijis (Hephthalites) defeats Challenge1 (Huns, Western with Germanic foot allies) 46-17.
Horse archers meet in forested hills, with all the chaos that one can expect. The usual charging and pursuit, and fewer places to run. The Hephthalites' Indian contingent - massed archers and medium foot who could fight in woodland - proved extremely valuable in this environment.

Division B
Schweetness101 - Andalusian 756-1049AD defeats Challenge1 - Arab, Umayyad 685-750AD 57-30
This one went to the very last turn! The Andalusians deployed in a long line, but the Arabs in a block off to their left side. The Arabs started out moving forward, but the Andalusians withdrew their right into some forests and rough ground to give their left time to come around and face the Arabs. The Arabs then reversed themselves and went for a very wide right with most of their cavalry, but were intercepted and driven back by a mix of Andalusian left flank forces. The Arabs then withdrew closer to their starting position, with the Andalusians now following from their left in a slow, wide arc covering most of the map. These long whole map wide movements took many turns, and it looked like things might not resolve within the turn limit, but at the last turn the points disparity rolled past 25%.

Division B
Schweetness101 - Andalusian 756-1049AD defeats Nijis - Spanish 900-1049AD 61 - 51
This one started very badly for me. Masses of light Spanish troops disrupted most of the Andalusian right wing of irregulars and massed archers before contact had even been made, and that whole flank collapsed quite early, leaving me down by I think about 15 points early on. However, the Spanish cavalry right wing of heavy lancers was subjected to a barrage of fire from a mixed Andalusian left wing massed archers and light archers, who were in turn ZoC protected by a few cheap spears. Those Spanish Lancers were also tied up by, and intermingled with Andalusian cheap lightspear cav and light horse, and after suffering disruptions from shooting and flanks all broke. Meanwhile, after some bad luck initially, the superior quality muslim veterans started to gain the advantage over the average quality Spanish shieldwalls. It remained very close the whole game and could have gone either way.
