Sorry about the slow pick up on your games.
Both challenges are armies I've never played, so it is taking me a little longer than normal to decide.
I'll try to pick up a bit.
John
bahh, both sides have peasants with funny pantaloons and both sides have lots of French Kniggits

Challenge game posted for Aryaman, password "aryaman". I took the Huguenots and pot luck terrain since you didn't request anything specific.

Pod A
My challenge for Pantherboy is Russians 1560-97 vs. Ottomans 1560-1609. Might as well try this now that it's legitimate.

Pod A result:
rbodleyscott (Swedish 1622-1629) won vs Moncholee (Polish 1618-1632) (55% to 61%)
As can be seen from the score this was a very close game. The Poles were able to run rings round the Swedes, and the early salvo units without regimental guns had such pitiful firepower that they could do very little to the Polish cavalry. However they easily beat the Polish infantry.
Eventually the Hussars ran out of soft targets and the Swedes still had plenty of infantry left. Although their volleys were only killing handfuls of Polish cavalry at at time, eventually it proved just enough.

Hutze is too modest to claim his victory over me.
Hutze (Italian 1494-1530) 11% won vs flatsix518 (French 1494-1525) 44%
Not much to say except that Hutze outplayed me all the way from jump.
Good game and well played!

Pod A result:
rbodleyscott (German Catholic 1632-1638) won vs cavehobbit (French 1635-1642) (16% vs 41%)
Initially the battle seemed set to become a stalemate, as the Imperialists advanced on to a hill and then held position hoping that the slope would offset the French impact advantage.
This being the case, the French were reluctant to close and held back.
However, the Imperialists managed to infiltrate a unit of hussars behind the French lines and take out both their batteries of artillery.
Given that if nothing further happened the victory would go to the Emperor, Monseigneur cavehobbit ordered his men to advance.
There followed a hard fought fight, but the Imperialists' advantage of position, and their two untouched batteries of artillery, decided the result.

There followed a hard fought fight, but the Imperialists' advantage of position, and their two untouched batteries of artillery, decided the result.
As the Imperialists took up positions on a hill to their left, the French moved their left wing including most of their cavalry in an attempt to force the Imperialists to leave the hill or spread out their units. But led by the expetience General RBS the Imperialist held their line so no weaknesses could be found by the French.
Annoyingly the Imperial light horses managed to find a gap in the French line and could attack the French artillery from behind.
The French left wing maneuvering too longer than expected and therefore there was no time to keep on trying to outmanouver the Imperials on their hill. As the battle would be lost although either side was far from routed, the French thought it would be more fun having a good fight before night fell rather than just stand there looking at each others.
Thanks for the game, well played!

kmaher (53%) victorious vs deadtorius (60%)
A close match and a real blood bath. If some of kmahers Poles would have been kind enough to lose cohesion after taking large numbers of hits the results might have been different. Polish stubbornness won through in the end. A good game and thank you and congratulations kmaher.
Perhaps I will be lucky in our other game...
