I am also a student of the war, personally visited all the major battlefields, played every single board game and electronic game I can get my hands on, actually collect them and militaria.
Went to the big board game faire in Essen, Germany last year and found four games I did not know existed, good day at the office...

The one I found in pretty bad condition was 'The fall of South Vietnam" by The Album games , looking for the rules as not in the box

it seems that the villages have a detection range..if thats the case, what is their range??

Bases have a detection range of 1 hex, villages do not.

My interest was just stimulated by an intriguing AAR on a gamer's site in which he analyzed his play step by step. He made mistakes, corrected them, and it does seem to give the feel of the counter-insurgency effort and especially the critical task of generating and using intelligence. If someone just hates the logical deductive process in Minesweeper, he'll probably hate the logical process of scouting and using reports and contacts to deduce or guess intelligently where hidden enemy are likely to appear or move.
I'll be buying it - when I can afford to be distracted by it.

Well I'm unbiased,,Bought this title and am enjoying it warts and all..Like front line the Longest Day getting my moneys worth..I've spent 50$ on games in the past and played them less...Just playing and watching for the patch..Thanks
