I don't know actually, but they were both used in extensive numbers! The Wirbelwind had to fast Cannons, and the Ost-Wind one hard hitting cannon. So I'd imagine the Wirbel-winds were designed to shoot down low flying fighters and bombers, while the Ost-wind high flying level bombers. Wirbelwind could dispel Infantry and and light vehicles, and the Ost wind could take on tanks if they were close enough to penetrate their armor

Its rather surprising how few Wirbelwind and Ostewind were produced. Only about 100 and then 44, respectively, all during 1944.. so sayeth the wiki, lol

I should edit my "extensive" in my post  is that both Eastern and Western Front?

those are the estimated total production numbers according to wiki. It would not be the first time the information was wrong there I imagine.
I was quite surprised by the seemingly low number. I guess 88's were shooting down a lot of those fly boys..

 very cool!

Will it be a dual role unit? Able to shoot down air strikes and also be used against ground units?

As Pip gave me the vanilla model of the Panzer IV for make the Panzer IV F2 the creation of "Ost-wind" was easy.
And yeah I'll make two different animations: the AA firing (against planes) and the 'ground' firing.

Ostwind looks great!

Radar tower is cool also! Will it have any abilities(detecting units farther out)? or is it just show? Great job either way!!!

Hey guys, nice work on the units! Can you tell me if they will work with the iPad version of the game as well?

They should work fine, although you obviously need a desktop version to author the mods.

Cheers

Yeah, that's coming next. I took the plunge for the iPad versions during your Easter sale. After stating that the PC demo was too easy, got my butt kicked playing a community made map. Enjoying it anyway, thanks Pip.

Maybe the Tower could be used to detect incoming enemy airstrikes?
That would be perfect for multiplayer. Maybe even a paratrooper mission.

Is this KS750 Sidecar available anywhere? I have searched this site and Amaris' and no luck. I have also downloaded all the custom scenarios, and cannot see it included in any of them. Maybe it never got completed, but if anyone has it I would be very grateful if you could post it or send it to me.

PM me and I can give you my email.

Many thanks.
