Finally the Barca Brothers are pleased to announce the opening of Syracuse free trade port, just too late for Archimedes...

Greetings Carthaginians 35/42 vs IDS Romans 41/41

Another close contest, I needed the extra points and a bit of luck.

Cheers

King Turk of Macedonia has sent gifts too the Carthaginian General in recognition of a well fought battle. An invitation to attend our royal court has also been dispatched. The Romans must be stopped at all cost

Meanwhile the struggle for Athens continues - both side around 10 Break Points left, but the Athenian hoplites are tiring rapidly.

45/46 Athenians vs 44/41 Ptolemaics. Phew - a lucky escape for Athenian democracy - the entire pantheon of gods were smiling upon my dice, and cursing the invader's. Great game and exceedingly unlucky for Egypt.

I think Roman province 14 is the last contested area this round? Any news?

The roman dogs just held on. In a final action of the game the Roman General was surrounded and hacked to pieces. No victory triumph for him.

Turn 3 saw the continuing extermination of the Gauls by Rome, but also saw three of the other great powers attack Roman provinces. Ptolemaic invasion of the Italian penisular was narrowly driven off (as was their equally audacious and bloody invasion of Athens), but the Carthagian invasion of Scily and the Macedonian occupation of Illyria met greater success. However the year really belonged to the Seleucids - with a continuaton of expansion against Galatia and Armenia, a reassertion of control over a restive province, and a shrugging off of a numerically superior Pontic coounter attack.

Ulysisgrunt (Pontic) defeats Parthians and captures province 63 (and gains +1 Battle Point for a total of 3 Battle Points)
Ian (Roman) defeats Thracians and capture provice 56, and defeats Gauls in 43 and 40 and successfully defends Roman province 47 (and gains +4 Battle Point for a total of 8 Battle Points)
ChrisBM (Selucids) defeats Galatians captures province 2, defeats Armenians and captures province 3, and defeats rebels and recaptures province 9, and successfully defends province 62 from Pontic invasion (and gains +4 Battle Point for a total of 7 Battle Points)
Greetings (Carthage) defeats Ian and captures minor city 51 (and gains 1 battle point).
Turk captures province 54 from Rome (and gains +1 battle point, for 2 in total)

In other news...
Western Scilly descends into chaos, as Roman garrisons are massacred as Greek and Punic cities reassert their independence.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I HAVE MISSED ANY

RANDOM EVENT FOR TURN 4 - Marriage strengthens ties between Macedonians and Pontics. A summer of love, eh?

I await your crows, Imperators.

Caesar advances on the troubled province of 52 with 500 pts of lean and mean fighting legionaries.
and sends 400 pts to invade the province of 39 and squash some haries.

Unfortunately 52 now counts as a naval invasion for Rome - so either this would be your only attack this round (no war frenzy this round) or you need to pick another province to target in addition to 39.

All other players are reminded that regardless of public declarations of orders on the thread, it is the pm'ed orders that count! Sneaky Romans.
