Welcome back Iain, if you would like we have hundreds of printing businesses here in NZ that will print anything for less than the price of a dozen beers. Think instantphoto printing. Printing while you wait. If you are really keen you could print FoG2 on vinyl and stick it your car, or house, or the side of a bus. It took more time for me to compose this quick reply than what it does to get a book printed today. Over 20 years experience in information technology I can tell you this for free without breaking any laws - anything can be printed :D
Distance should not be a problem. We kiwis love our Uncle Bens Instant Rice - a product of the UK - we grow the ingredients and ship them to the UK, where they mix them with rice grown in asia and ship back to NZ - all for $2 a packet at the shop.

Have you floated the idea of a campaign supplement with seige rules? We ran a club campaign on the Britannia board game - awesome fun.

Obviously you can print anything but the price is what counts ;)

We're exploring various possibilities. It is going to be far more expensive to print this version but we;re looking for the best solution that makes the price bearable for everyone.

I'm guessing they ship more than a few hundred packets of this rice and that may be why they can do it so cheaply. Its all about ordering in bulk and FoG 2.0 is not a bulk order so none of that really applies, but thanks for the info.

about shipping, is there noone in the community working for a shipper/freither?
What is the volume/weight for the boxes?
Anyway, a printable version in pdf with a code would be a solution, pirate armylists and rule books are already available on the net. Yet i have seen noone in tournaments use them, and i think noone in clubs would use them.
But over the shelf sales in shops and conventions are important, it gives visibility to the rules, we all buy rules at shops and conventions, and i have quite a few rule books at home that i never played. Just like my collection of miniatures, wargamers are compulsary collectors, i do not know one wargamer who has no stock.

But thank you Slitherine for having heard us.
