Re: [Mod] SS-GTPG v1.10 (22-12-13)

I downloaded and started playing this last evening!
I enjoy a lot of the new units and various camouflage colors…

One question - I'm not getting new movement sounds from my SS Units or SE units.
My units move along with no noise - and then I just hear explosions when they fire.
I only seem to be getting sounds from the "vanilla" aspect of the game.
Is there something I should change in my settings or anything extra I need to unpack in my files?
The only SOUND I've seen that is working that is new...is a STORCH plane.

Any hints or thoughts?

The Elite units was never fully made compatible w/ the RSM (my fault entirely, at the time I just had no time), however I think NiKi had made a quick-fix for this a while back for SS-GTPG .

I am sure when he sees the post he will address it.

If he did not I will make Elite Units compatible with RSM after the holidays.

Here is the update of SS-GTPG. This should fix the sound issues. Do not use this in combination with any other sound mod, like the RSM. It won't work at this point. For that, Airborne would have to rewrite the efx.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/7xhl7x

(200 Mb in zip)

If this zip is too large, than you need to copy the "audio" folder manually from your panzer corps install, into the SS-GTPG GME folder where it will merge with the present audio folder. Don't forget to unload first and then reload into GME.

Hey nikivdd and airbornemongo101…
Tried downloading this newest version and still get "vanilla" sounds, but no SS or SE sounds.
The zip size of the file was fine and I just did a complete re-install. Comparing the audio files from this MOD and the Original PC game, I see NO NEW SOUND FILES?
I'm sure you have files and names for your "modded sounds and newer .wav files" but I cannot find anything but the vanilla game sounds. So when I use a vanilla core group, I get movement and battle sounds. When using an SS or SE unit, I don't get any movement sounds. Just wondering what it could be? OR maybe I'm just having a problem incorporating the sounds?

My only other campaigns I've played is the Original PC game and the Original GTPG file nikivdd modded a while back. (all vanilla files)
So I'm not all familiar with the modding additions, so it could be me? (not putting something in the right places?)
Otherwise, with the exception of sound - all the videos and game play seems to be working fine.
Thanks for any help.

Well looks like I have a project to start after the holiday.

Look for work to start around Jan4-5 (the 1st weekend in the New Year)

You cannot use RSM along with SS-GTPG (right now). The efx file that is included in the above link uses vanilla sounds.

I will start making Elite Units compatible w/ the RSM after the New Year.

I had a look into the latest version.
Appearingly something went wrong with the upload to sendspace, the file is too small. I re-upped the full package.
Remember to extract the whole thing in your GME mods folder and load the mod into GME.
Several SS units are available for purchase from scene 1. I used the cheat all eqp and everything seems to be in order; that includes the whole range of SS units that will become available during the game.

NIKIVDD-

Thanks-I d\l the updated version from your above posting.

When I go to intially purchase my core units I find I have 5 SS types available:

3 infantry (Inf...Bridge Engr...Calvary Units...no pionieres)

I Tank ( SS PZIA)

1 Arty (SS Sturmpanzer I)

I seem to recall from a previous play thru having SS PZIII's...SS PZIV...Pionieres...SS Recon units with 4 space spotting abilities...available at the start.

Is there something I'm not doing correctly via the GME program. It appears and then I click the SS campaign and then place into the active mod section (right side).

TXS

Everything is as it should be. The first mission is early '39 in Spain; more SS units will become available in Poland.

I'll ask their commanding officer why they are not on their assigned station ;).

EDIT

I checked and the "Brandenburger" is on hex (30,23) represented by the Gebirgsjäger icon.

Thanks Nikivdd,

To bad their no mention of your MPC 37-39 mod in the stickies, it would be a shame that a newcomer miss out
on the Mannerhein line scn.
I finish MPC, my core is save in the coresave folder but when i start dlc 40 it's not showing in the list, any idea...

Are you talking about the core import for the official DLC '40 or the custom MPC '40?

So it's not meant to be retreived by the official dlc 40. When to Streitmatch and got MPC 40
and was able to retreive my core. Just got confused with a line the install-faq:
Either continu with the DLC '40 (on request only) and/or play the next installment of the MPC series.
Didn't know that MPC 40 was out. thanks...

NIKIVDD-

Have started playing this campaign again. Using v1.20 rules...reform units...AI=2...Colonel difficulty.

Previous play thru I used v1.10 (I think?) with AI=1.

Do you think the new campaign settings will offer a greater challenge with your mod this time around?

Any general playstyle advice...or overall campaign strategies to consider relevant to the way this new campaign has been structured.

Arty bombardments and airpower ground strikes seemed to be toned down a bit...does infantry play a greater role...the SS Recon spotting value=4 sure seems to help.

Again...txs for your modding efforts/talents (and a host of others, too)...continues to give PC great replayability...will continue to be a fixture on my HD! :D

A lot is gueswork but i suppose that AI = 2 should offer a greater challenge. There is also the advanced difficulty settings that can make things easier or harder.

I suppose with most campaigns, that a balanced core is the key to succes. Also if you have a surplus of units, it is better to rotate them so they get the chance to gain experience (and heroes).

I must admit that i never played SS-GTPG, so my impressions originate from the vanilla GTPG, with no "boosted" units available. Things were tough at times, so i guess that for SS-GTPG the scenarios should be overall easier.
