The visit to the Military Museum is now confirmed. Here's the cunning plan:
Durig the morning there will be people from AJSP finishing up the setup of the venue place at Museu da Marinha (in Belém). The first assembling point for those interested will be in front of this Museu, between 11.30 and 12.00. We can take you for a nice lunch of Portuguese food and we are intending to go to Museu Militar by tram, a relaxing and enjoyable trip through the city.
For those who can't make it for the first part above, the second assembling point is in front of Museu Militar (downtown), at 14.30.
A guided tour in English (Portuguese optional

) will follow. After the tour, the plan is to go to a nice bar, with the possibility to taste some of the fine local wines, better than the French ones (they are not coming, so they can fell insulted at will

). And yes, there's beer there as well...
For those interested in attending some part of the program (even if only the drinking part), please drop a line to either me or João Diogo, preferably with a way to contact you while in Portugal, so we can know what (and whom) to expect.
At the AJSP web site
http://www.ajsportugal.org/ you can find some links with the main event details, like location and timetables.

If you are going on the trams/metro the card like an Oyster card is good and cheap it also gets you into the museum cheaper.

The British contingent will make it before the bar shuts. I believe you have Dave's contact details. 3 of us are on the same plane.

Oh captain, my captain!
GB captain Dave Ruddoch offers to pay for everyone's dinner as he relishes the success of his team on day 1 of ITC 2011, in Lisbon. Apparently, he was then heard to mutter, "Err, arm skint mun!"

Dan has a full list of scores, but as far as I know the pool winners were
1. Dave Ruddock - 10 points
2. Marco Quinta - 9 points (I think)
3. Juan Miguel Morillas - 10 points
4. Robert Taylor - 12 points
Well done to Joao for organising an excellent venue and thanks to all four of my opponents for some really good games.
Steve Payne apparently has to vote republican for the rest of his life now.

Well done to Team GB for restoring our honour after our miserable performance last year.
And particularly well done to Rob for showing how the Ottomans should be used - glad you stuck to your guns!

After the amount of grief i have received over the last 12 months, i had assumed gb won every year. But looking at the plaque, gb last won in 2005!
So we didn't perform quite as badly as some would have it
