That wasn't an insult. It was a serious suggestion that you get some advice on presenting your posts from someone who expresses himself clearly and succinctly (If you can find someone better than DR, then do that. Hammy might be a good candidate as he has rule-writing experience). Your writing does not use correct grammar or punctuation, which makes it hard work to understand, easy to misunderstand, and undermines your credibility. I'd help you out myself, but email probably isn't the best medium for doing that.

N.B. Don't take Dave R's advice on how to construct a logical argument (he's rubbish), only how to express points of your own devising.

Hi guys

Not trying to take sides here but we have people of all levels of education and all nationalities playing FOG and some of the comments made could be taken very personally.

Sometimes I struggle to get my point across even though I know what I am trying to say but sometimes the other party does not.

In Daves defense....................it can be hard teaching an old dog new tricks...............

If I thought the poster might not be a native English speaker I would not make any comments about his use of English. However, he's called Dave, so I assumed this was not the case.

And as I said before, it's not about being personal or insulting. It's simply that if you want to be understood, then it's worth taking a bit of time over your posts, rereading them before posting and writing in sentences that are clear and not too long.

We all get that, although not eveyone acknowledges it. I often find it salutary to go back and read something I wrote six months ago when I can't remember what I was trying to say.

I've said that Dave's writing is not grammatical, I've not said anything about him personally. If he fixed that, he would get his points across much more easily (i.e. it was constructive criticism). He can understand the rules of FOG, so he's no dummy, and would pick up the rules of constructing a proper English sentence quite rapidly, once someone points them out.

And to cure that you have suggested he asks a Geordie for advice. Some peoples view points really are non-sensical.
