Syria already being at stake I believe I can not declare an attack
That's unfortunately correct, Dave.

Round 3 (318 BC): battle resolutions

All attack declarations have again been made and it's again time for the main attraction: the battles...! Who will last, who will thrive, and who will perish...?
AGAIN: Always keep in mind and report if a C-in-C falls in battle!
Battles (318 BC, round 3)
1. Warg1 attacks
Malabar26, using the army of Gedrosia, in
Indike.
2. Malabar26 attacks
Aetius39, using the army of Paropamisadai with Indian allies, in
Parthyaia.
3. Aetius39 attacks
Malabar26, using the army of Arakhosia, in
Paropamisadai.
4. Ironclad attacks
carpenkm, using the army of Hyrkania, in
Media.
5a. SnuggleBunnies attacks
TomoeGozen, using the army of Phrygia, in
Syria.
5b. carpenkm attacks
SnuggleBunnies, using the army of Mesopotamia, in
Syria. (SnuggleBunnies decides terrain and must use the same main army as in 5a, i.e., Phrygia, but can decide whether to use allies or not.)
5c. deeter attacks
SnuggleBunnies, using the army of Aigyptos with Arab allies, in
Syria.(SnuggleBunnies decides terrain and must use the same main army as in 5a, i.e., Phrygia, but can decide whether to use allies or not.)
Setting up the battles
- Battles are fought using the Dividing the Spoils v4 module and the armies therein.
- The defender (in bold above) creates the challenge (with himself always as Side B) by October 22 at the latest and thereafter sends a PM to the attacker and makes a post in this thread.
- Module: Dividing the Spoils v4 (click Select another module).
- Armies:
- The attacker uses the army that he specified in his attack declaration.
- The defender uses the army of the defender satrapy (in bold above), with exception for SnuggleBunnies in battles #5b and 5c, who is using the army of Phrygia (the same as in his own attack, #1).
- Scenario: Custom Battle - Open Battle.
- Force size: Large (1600 FP).
- Map type: from defender satrapy's available terrains as selected by the defender (see table below).
- No map re-rolls are allowed.
Resolving and reporting the battles
- Players commit to concluding their battles by November 19 at the latest.
- Any battles not concluded by then risk being resolved by adjudication.
- The defender reports the outcome of concluded battles in this thread, specifying who won (if any), the casualties, and if any C-in-C's fell during the battle (important since it matters for when tournament will end).
- Example: Aetius39 beat kronenblatt 48-21, with Aetius 39s C-in-C killed in battle.

Hello guys! Hope you're all safe and sound.
Could you please give an update on how these battles are progressing: which turn you're at, how close to conclusion?
Battles (318 BC, round 3)
1. Warg1 attacks Malabar26, using the army of Gedrosia, in Indike.
2. Malabar26 attacks Aetius39, using the army of Paropamisadai with Indian allies, in Parthyaia.
3. Aetius39 attacks Malabar26, using the army of Arakhosia, in Paropamisadai.
4. Ironclad attacks carpenkm, using the army of Hyrkania, in Media.
5a. SnuggleBunnies attacks TomoeGozen, using the army of Phrygia, in Syria.
5b. carpenkm attacks SnuggleBunnies, using the army of Mesopotamia, in Syria.
5c. deeter attacks SnuggleBunnies, using the army of Aigyptos with Arab allies, in Syria.
AGAIN: Always keep in mind and report if a C-in-C falls in battle!, since once "the C-in-C of all non-eliminated players have fallen (at least once) in battle", the tournament will end, reflecting that the age of the Diadochi (the generals personally knowing and fighting with and for Alexander) is deemed to be over.

5c deeter is attempting to withdraw to an unassailable position while my full force pursues

Thanks for report, Jack! And I've heard from Warg1 as well: thanks!
How about you other participants in the other battles: could you please give an update on how these battles are progressing: which turn you're at, how close to conclusion?

The battle in Media was concluded late last night. Media once again proved an inhospitable place for tourists.
Carpenkm beats Ironclad 44-12
With good defensive positions on both flanks the Medians waited for the onslaught. Massed bowmen and lights held the left and a mixture of inf and cav in enclosures the right. The left held easily, but things were touch and go on the right flank with Hyrkanian cav archers and lights causing all kinds of misery. Light troops redeployed to help out. Once the main lines met, a lucky push back led to a flank being exposed and the enemy pikes broke quickly. Well played and thanks for a good game. No C in Cs were harmed in making of this report.

Thanks for report, Keith. That also means the elimination of yet another of the Diadochi:
Ironclad!

Thanks for participating and hope you enjoyed it.

Battle #1 : Warg1 and Malabar26 agreed to a draw.
The Indian army stood (not so) valiantly on a giant rock...

5a. SnuggleBunnies attacks TomoeGozen, using the army of Phrygia, in Syria.
This battle has reached its inevitable conclusion of a devestating defeat for Syria.... I'm not at my computer right now so I can't remember the score but it was ..embarrasing
Cheers,
Dave
