A very slow start in Division A has seen defending champion dkalenda (Kingdom of Soissons) take an early lead with 2 straight wins. Snugglebunnies (Byzantine) has also started with a win. Division B has all the makings of a very exciting competition with Cunningcairn (Roman) the early pacemaker, although he has been pegged back by second-placed desertedfox (Roman) in his last match. cromlechi (Scots-Irish) is third with 2 wins from 4 and there were winning starts for Karvon (Parthian), lydianed (Sassanid) and Nijis (Hepthalite). Newcomer ConstantinIX (Roman) has taken a firm grip on Division C already with 4 wins and a draw from 5 starts. I think he is going to take some catching, the best placed player currently to do that is General Shapur (Sassanid) who has 2 wins and a draw from 3 matches. Another newcomer, vvanttin (German Horse Tribes) is the early leader in Division D with 3 straight wins. GeneralKostas (Byzantine) and Macedonczyk (Jewish Revolt) have also made winning starts.

The Biblical section is in its fourth season now and so far it has been won 3 times in a row by ianiow (now Syracusan) using the aforesaid Arab army. But it will not happen this season, although the Arab army may prevail again for a fourth time. In fact, ianiow has not recorded a result so far this season and he was last seen wandering about in the desert muttering to himself, "I'm sure that I left those damned camels here". In Division B batesmotel (Kyrenean) has started with 2 straight wins to head the table and pompeytheflatulent (Median) has recovered from an opening defeat to record 2 wins as well. lunecastle (Babylonian) has started strongly in Division C recording 3 straight wins, but it is baldrick52 who is currently top of the table having played 6 games in total. edb1815 (Cypriot) and blobka (Corinthian) both have 2 wins apiece in third and fourth places respectively.
