Fantastic icons rezaf!. That´s what I call dedication, with and guille´s work I think I will have the complete soviet armory :P
Regarding the T-43 discussion, I think you both are right: there was a 76mm and 85mm version of it, but just prototypes that never saw combat (I will use them to give some color to my campaign).
The IS-122 was the first version of the IS-2, am I correct?, it was used very shortly late 1943.

Also, another request fullfilled: The Slovak Maxim HMG squad, in ground to ground and AA modes... Enjoy!
EDIT: I made a new icon for the Slovak HMG squad, which I uploaded here. The old one was used as a base for a Slovak HW infantry, which was a unit that was lacking (see below). :-)
Great work ! :D :D
I hope that Hungarians and Poles are still on your list ? :)

Indeed they are :P , in fact, last night I was looking for tank camo for the polish 1st army. For the hungarians still I have to check what we have in the guille´s pack.

The SU-100Y for itself makes all the effort worthy! That was in my "wanted" list from a loooong time! For that I have to thank you a million times!

Edit: The SU-14 is also a "green light"!!! :-) It existed in prototype form, and, as said in wikipedia, it participated in the defense of Moskow. That is enough for me... But don't get me wrong, what I don't like about WoT is the "existence" of a 280 mm gun armed Maus tank with a top speed of 100 km/h and 1 meter of armor. I have seen there some really impossible things to take shape...

I think the KV-85 or something similar was the basis for the IS series, with IS-1 being the first. Also, I think it was called the ISU-122, but am not certain.

Yes, you are right. The KV-85 gave birth to the IS-1 which is the first of the stalin series. But I was refering to the IS-2 in particular, the IS-122 was the first version of it.

Edit: I need some help people. I have this unit who is driving me crazy!. Everytime I selected in the game, it freezes and crashes. These are the equipment lines for that, could somebody take a look and tell whats wrong? Ok, here is a very special request fullfilled... The Katzchen APC! I really like the result of this project. As anybody can see, this is the version based on the Pz38 (t) chassis, which seemed to be the most documented. Besides, should the conditions allowed, this prototipe was judged better than the other one, so this one would be the one chosen for series production...

As I could resd, this vehicle was designed as a replacement for the Sdkfz 251 halftrack, in its various roles, and also to be used as a recon platform. This said, I can (for the time being) think about some versions to be developed from the basic model (which, in this case is the APC)

Katzchen Uhu: vehicle carriyng a big infrared searchlight to illuminate targets for IR fire control equipped tanks, same to the Sdkfz 251-20. I already made this version icon, just the mask is missing.

Katzchen Recon: This icon could be turned into a switchable (a rare thing to be read in this thread! :-) ) armored recon unit, in the same way as the Italian Saharan Inf/Sahariana Recon vehicle. This icon could be made identifiable by adding some figures inside it, handling binoculars and/or one of those cool binocular persicopes the germans used for long range observation while under cover (anyone can help making such graphic?)

Katzchen Fire support: A version with the short 7,5 cm L/24 gun, useful to provide fire support to recon teams (very similar gun mounting as the Sdkfz 233). I saw some scale models images in the internet

Katzchen Engineers vehicle: Also saw images of a version of this vehicle equipped in the same way as the Sdkfz 251 engineers version, with the bridge sections mounted on its sides...

PS: Any of the german speaking members could be so gentle to provide a good short term to replace the english APC abreviation, in order to give a better name to this unit?
Well, some ideas I had, while robbing time to my "real life" obligations! :-)

I hope you like the icons!

Very special thanks to Jmacnamara who managed to accurately reproduce the exact regular german unit tone, for the non-Se icons, which allowed me to make a skin which looks, simply said, perfect. Good job!!

That has nothing to do with it.

His spacing for the columns are in correct.

All your data needs to be in the correct column. Your date was in the same column as the png

Ok I did that and it works like a charm. The problem is I don´t want the unit to be purchasable, so I tag it available since 1946 :D . Thanks again Guille!

Very nicely done! I can't wait to give it a test drive in the game.

From http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%A4tzchen_(Panzer): "Der Mannschaftstransportwagen Kätzchen war ein deutscher Prototyp gegen Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges". I'd use "MTW Kätzchen" for short and "Mannschaftstransportwagen Kätzchen" for the description.

Have you thought about stats already? Higher defense values, movement of 5/6 and a slightly higher softattack?

I do have an idea on how to make different kittens available to different types of infantry without cluttering the organic transport section in the purchase screen.

This is what I use at the moment to avoid clutter between Regular, Elite and SS units (and SE units but they're bonus):

Code: Select all

8	Grenadiere 43	0	227	5	0	2	2	0	4	7	8	-1	1	8	17	2	0	0	Wehrmacht_HW_43.png	01.01.1943	31.12.1946	3 Wehrmacht Grenadiere 43	close minekiller Regular reland sea rail air glider
73	Pioniere 43	0	233	5	0	2	2	0	2	7	7	-1	1	8	17	2	0	0	Pioniere_43.png	01.01.1943	31.12.1946	3 Pioniere 1943	meng close fortkiller minesweeper Eng reland sea rail air glider
117	SdKfz 250/1	14	200	4	80	8	1	0	2	1	1	-1	0	3	6	1	1	0	SdKfz_250-1.png	17.6.1941	1.1.1946	1 Sd.Kfz. 250/1 sea rail glider	reland
So 'land' has vanished as a transport mode and is replaced by 'reland' for regular units. The SS get 'ssland' and so forth. Now suppose you introduce a normal Kätzchen and a Kätzchen engineering unit -- Stats the same as SdKfz 250/1; I am lazy:

Code: Select all

8	Grenadiere 43	0	227	5	0	2	2	0	4	7	8	-1	1	8	17	2	0	0	Wehrmacht_HW_43.png	01.01.1943	31.12.1946	3 Wehrmacht Grenadiere 43	close minekiller Regular reland rekatz sea rail air glider

In fact, I use a similar system already and it works perfectly. (Pity this cannot ever work for air, rail and sea).
I hope you like the icons!
A very pleasant surprise!

As do I!
Excellent job guille, thank you so much for fulfilling my request. I feel like it's christmas. 8)

In my defense, here's a reasoning at least trying to explain why I based my icon on the original Kätzchen design: I wasn't sure basing it on the Pz38(t) would result in a unit one could justify giving truly meaningful defensive stats.
You're of course right in saying that the Pz38(t) variant would have been the most likely to actually have entered production - after all production on the original variant was halted historically - but as this is an alternate history unit anyway...
I fully intended of giving the Kätzchen significant defense, so it would finally be a unit you could risk placing somewhere close to the enemy.
Cause a fully tracked vehicle must be pretty slow, slower than the halftracks. So I think there should be a good reason why you would forego a possible mobility advantage in favor of the Kätzchen.
As it stands, we have the Truck, which is pretty affordable, the SdKfz251, which is slightly slower on roads but offers better cross-country mobility (at a price) and the SdKfz250, which is outrageously expensive but also versatile like the 251 AND faster than a truck. Still, it's armor is basically still sheets of paper, and so I consider it massively overpriced. Putting your army in those things can bankrupt you.
The Kätzchen I wanted to make slow but able to take a beating from, say T-34's. I wouldn't have been able to shoot back, but at least it would not have been one-shot either.
So that was the idea.

I can of course still put those stats on your excellent icon anyway, I was just trying to reveal what was going on in my mind.
I merely requested any Kätzchen, and you sure provided. And I think it's cool that you made your own artistic choices - that's how it's ought to be.
So thanks again, I owe you one. 8)
