Be careful what you wish for mighty King ianiow. I spanked your Arabs 44-0 in Season 5. Now your Arabs won last season beating me 62-44 but you had favorable terrain. I’m still learning how to use the Arabs but your time will come.

harveylh - Arab 1000-313BC defeats Cunningcairn - Thracian 680-461BC with Greek allies 680-551BC, 41-14.

Terrain was a big factor as the battlefield was constrained which mitigated the Arab camels, but one large woods and a smaller woods protected the Arab flanks. Closer game than the score indicates as Thracians were winning the battle of the large woods. Worse than average luck in the woods kept the Thracians from winning that battle till the game was decided in the center. Good game!

rbodleyscott (Carthaginians + Spanish) defeated dkalenda (Early Achaemenid Persian) 57:28

Tough battle, which was on about 26:26 at one point, but the massed Spanish scutarii eventually defeated the Persian sparabara and carried the day. The Persian cavalry caved in the Carthaginian left, but then got carried away pursuing, otherwise they could have come in on the rear of the Carthaginian infantry.

Some really fortunate rolls quickly turned this to an untenable situation and I received a surrender.

The Vikings got off to an early lead in this one, pushing the Polish troops to the edge of an early victory. At their peak, they enjoyed something like a 39-13 advantage. And like many of my games, that was as close as they got to an early win. They did prevail, however, with the final outcome resulting in our Scandinavian scrummagers gaining the victory the hard way.
