The rolls went my way, and the flat ground allowed for the closing of space before bolts and artillery could make a mark. A little swamp on the flank helped.

Captainwaltersavage Castillian/Leonese 1200 - 1319 with Granadine defeats anderarcos11 Teutonic order 1226-1319 AD

On mountainous terrain both sides initially claimed a mountain as a fortress. The Castillians were more central and on the left. The Teutonic order brought large numbers of troops and lots of knights. After a bit of skirmishing and long distance sniping of which the Castillians came off better, the Castillians decided to attack on their right flank. Stripping the troops from the left side to keep the centre secure. The first assaults went very well for the Iberians but then the Teutonic order sounded their war horns and launched their masses of Baltic foot crossbows and knights towards the depleted left flank of my army. Luckily for me the Teutonic order had a very bad day. My crossbows and archers on the central hill disrupted everything they shot at; the enemy knights that made it rhough the hail of missiles bounced from my spearmen and my Iberian knights charged home to finish the deal. Even when the enemy crossbows disrupted my knights they rallied the next turn. The score line owes as much to the RNG gods as to any tactics and I had a fair number of disrupted and fragmented troops hiding at the back. A longer battle would have seen my right flank struggling to hold off the Elite enemy knights but they held on long enough for the win.
