Just wanted to stop by and say thanks for making such a great campaign!

Beat it a few years back (took several months!) and really enjoyed it. Favorite was Seelow heights.

Good job! :)

Currently taking a break from your other mod, the excellent Legacy of Versailles (doing all those late war naval invasion missions with my precious core is harrowing! ) to play McGuba's Battlefield Europe. Will be sure to finish up LoV after that though 8)

Your mods have inspired me to fiddle with the editor. Maybe something will come of it.

Hi, I am also playing this great Mod , I have just won Dunkirk and have a question. I have in my core a "Gustav" Rail Gun, I was given it in an earlier game, my issue is I have got it to where I should be able to overstrength it to 11/10 but it will not overstrength why? I will have to look in future games at having one of these in my core as they really have their uses!

Do you have enough prestige? If I recall, it takes a lot to over strength this particular unit. Too expensive for my tastes when I played through this campaign.

Hi about 6000 pts
I have just been given an armoured train and I can overstrength that, is just seems strange.

Possibly because the Gustav has the "noreplace" trait in that mod?

Hi,
sorry but I have not come across "noreplace" what does that mean? it can not get overstrengthed or any replacements at all?

Correct.
Gustav cannot be: not purchased, not upgraded nor losses can be replaced.

Hi,
I will have to be very careful with this unit ! I have never really used this unit before except where it was given as an aux unit. Limited by the railroads but very handy at times. Might try and get one in future cores.

I just finished v1.16, it took over a month, but a nice job. From the number of times units got killed with little I could do about it, I gather this was intended to be played with "Reform Units" on. I certainly want to warn any future players to make sure to start your campaign with Reform Units on, or you may be using cheat mode a lot!

On the good side: it uses the PG-type system of mobile artillery having a shorter range than towed, giving good purpose to both; get the Gustav railway gun in my force (love it); getting a prototype FW-190 in Sealion with lots of time before it comes into service; starting the world conquest just when you think the war is over; sheer number and variety of scenarios; nice way of working in PzC bug of units expiring at end of 1945 as part of campaign.

On the bad side: doesn't have lots of captured Soviet units to make it through the 1941 technology lag; too little prestige for overstrength units; way overpowered Soviet 1941 air power; tendency to have enemy air units come out of nowhere and blow your units away with little or nothing you can do about it

Wish list: Rudel and +3 movement infantry leader from Grand Campaign; a prototype Stug IIIF for winning Sweden; some kind of permanent reward for conquering Spain.

Nice work overall!

Thanks Ostrava for providing a (temporary) DL.

Hi Nico,
I have been replaying this mod (perhaps the best one available!) I have taken a different route this time to see if I can amass more points to get to the Channel. I have just run into a problem after getting a DV at Wacht Am Rhein (The most nervous game yet) I was expecting to go to Budapest as per the flow chart instead I get sent to West Germany 4 months later and miss all the East games. is there any thing I can do?

Thanks
Martin

Hi Nico,

This campaign inspired by G. Treitler is indeed one of the very best one I have ever played so far (best is Ost Front mod by DMP team according to me but it is mostly due to icons and scenario design).

I use elite e-file 1.21 which is compatible with yours : http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=31526

Just a problem, the portrait picture of units when earning a medal are perfect for aircraft units only, for all other units the height of the picture is too small and image is distorted (making all heroes "fat"). This is not a major issue for gameplay but it is annoying because imperfect.
Is there another e-file you recommend ?

I come back to your campaign, it is extremely hard since I am playing at sergeant level , I won against UK in 1939 and conquered Moscow early in 1941 but both UK and USSR remain in the war. Is it wished ?

I am just beginning Stalingrad.

I like the maps, they are more looking like the standard PG (and Stalingrad is much better than the specific map for DLC campaigns...).

Thx for your feedback!
