Maybe this is a bug. Rostov 43.
I tried to bring the Totenkopfdivision from Kerch to the neighboring port.
Two things went wrong:
-when landing the 17cm Kanone became airborn as in an air transport?!?
-I tried several times to get the Tiger on a rail transport instead of driving it to the fight. But it always ended up back on a ship again?
the 17cm can be embarked in a ME 323 Gigant which u have 4 of in that scenario. This should not be possible in a port, but if i cannot change this.
The port next to kerch is only a port and will not enable embarking on a train. I´ll add a village next to it to enable train transport.
So far it seems all playtesters used the transport ships to bring the Totenkopf-Division up north to Mariupol, so those issues never came up.
thx for mentioning.

Thomas

Stalingrad chasing partisans:
surprised to be back here. What do I ahve to hunt for? there is a wave of aggressively attacking partisans with quite a bit of artillery (which I did not expct from the briefing)! I kill them and reach 17/20 killed partisan units.
Advancing further over several turns nothing happens, I cannot find the leftover partisans. And then I run into a severe heavy tank force which pretty much runs over me and my light anti-partisan units!
If I play it defensively I lose as I only kill 17 out of 20 Partisans. I was surprised by that, I thought Iw ould just miss a victory point or so.
Please give me a hint: Do I have to fight THROUGH the enemy tank force? That needs a completely different army! Or did you hide the other partisans somewhere?

this is the first time ever I find "just making it somehow" close to impossible...

when u close on the enemy tanks u should get a pop up message "explaining" their presence.
U have all the means necessary to get some of ur training units over the river and help out with killing those tanks. even when playing the first time and being surprised by this.
the remaining 3 partisans are behind the tank-force.
hint:
recons can see camouflaged units pretty well. maybe u have some iraky cav units from AC?
Hope this helps.

Thomas

you are really kiling me. Would consider this one of the hardest battles of the whole campaign yet. Needed 4 replays to make it.
MAde it and am shocked by Voronezh.
I am starting to sell heroes to have full-strength units. Maybe I am diverting too far from the strategy you were planning. I tried to use Stalingrad to buy green units and train them as I considered my core to be way too small. Downgraded my Panthers to Pz1A to have more prestige to buy new units..... I guess you were planning for the player to have a small elite force.

That´s what mannstein tells u in the very first scenario where u are forced to shrink ur force.
I never had any prestige issues on my playthroughs so far. I tend to have a very defensive playstyle, trying to loose as little as possible. Evrything is backed up by AT/Arty-support, always AA cover and counter-batterie.(Hint: the 17 cm has 5 range and does a very good job at this. With the artillerie hero u can get in Moscow this rocks.)
What diff settings are u on? If u are used to Generallisimus in the vanilla campaign i would tune down a rank or two for the PC1-Remake. the base difficulty is a bit higher and it´s less forgiving.

Thomas

only playing "General". But I guess way too careless and aggressive. I finished most scenarios quite a few turns earlier and there is no bonus for that. No Blitzkrieg in 43 I guess
Also try to keep it somewhat "fair" as in not reloading too often when something goes wrong...
"Along the Wolga" was a real prestige sink for me -mainly to save "Totenkopf". I expected an attack in the East, but not in the West. I guess I have to replay this scenario first.
Coming out of "Along the Wolga" it I do not have enough prestige to buy the top tier officer and repair my units. I had hoped for a "harvesting" scenario or a large prestige resupply. Not happening I guess...

Recon is very important in those scenarios. i tend to have 2+ recon planes around to make sure i can see what´s coming from where. i tried to set up the scenario AI in a way that it tends to surprise even me when i play.

That counter offensive is very aggressive. guess they have a grudge cause they were to late for Voronezh.

How did u like the Night-witches? did u notice that they have Hero-portraits?

You are not supposed to buy the 5k hero all the time.

if u do no wonder u have no prestige. I wouldn´t buy the 5k one unless u are close to 10k before buying it.

finally made it through Moscow 43. You really did an awesome job to keep this interesting. Somehow the AI seems ot be much more flexible and aggreissve than in the AO campaigns.
I am still learning to play more defensively over all-out-attack all the time.

Hi
How would you say the remake of PZ1 GC compares to the new AO? Pros and cons?
I played through the normal campaign in 2020 and now I want to start a new one. I like playing on high difficulty without any General Attributes/Tratis, and not using OP hero-combos. I'm just not sure which campaign to start with here...

Pc1 remake is more difficult and less forgiving than the AO-campaign.
I would advise to tune down ur diff setting 1-2 ranks compared to what ur playing AO at and then see what its like for u.
I usually play with only killer team and have ruthless for neg traits to prevent prestige abuse by capturing.
With the new hero script in place there is the possibility to run out of prestige if u are too greedy when buying heros.
let me know what ur experience was like when ur finished with ur playthrough.

Thomas

Hi Bruno,
i have no issues starting 1942 with and without core import.
Is PC1 remake the only mod that changes units u are using? Will the game crash for u when u don´t import a core?
Can u check the mod-version in ur mod-manager?
sers,
Thomas

Hi bruno this is an issue beyond the mod. i can only guess here, so best advice i can give is reinstall the game and try again.
If this can´t solve ur issue u need to reach out to the dev team. this is beyond where i can help.

Can’t tell you how forward I’m looking to the 1940 upgrade. Probably been waiting since two weeks after 1939 came out.

I’ll chime in on the 1443 NH change in core units. Totally understand why you put it in place. The game just gets out of balance with so much experience and so many leaders. A long time ago, I switched to making 3 different cores and rotating them to spread out the experience and heros. That way, I never get units that can just obliterate the other side. 1943 throws a wrench into that strategy, but I work around it.
