Khorasanian right wing was saved by a horse archer unit which held up the Indian advance through the centre to save the Khorasanian right wing from annihilation. Khorasanian managed to avoid having too many units trampled by elephants and got into the softer infantry to claim a very unexpected victory. GG

defeated Indibil's Philistine 800 to 600 BC army and Egyptian ally

by 43 to 17.

The conflict featured a violent cavalry/chariot battle on the Babylonian's left flank that was still unresolved by the game's end. Most of the foot battles took part on the right flank where the Philistine's massed archers reaped a number of casualties before the Babylonian's successfully passed through a marsh to imperil and then collapse the Philistine's wing.

The Hebrew deployment against the Babylonian right precipitated a hasty withdrawal of Babylonian Chariots and cavalry to avoid being trapped against rough ground and marsh.
However, swarms of Hebrew skirmishers caught, shot up and routed outnumbered Babylonian medium infantry and skirmishers. A commanding Hebrew lead was being established.
But the rescued Babylonian cavalry and chariots from the right and added to those from their left made a well co-ordinated mobile attack on the stretched Hebrew right flank. They were well on the way to evening up the losses until the Hebrew left wing were able to get back involved and make the final difference.

alexhstandish (Ghaznavid) beat phlewis (Rajput Indian) 65:53

The Indians lined up with numerous elephants and bow, with lancers on the wings. The Ghaznavids hid Ghilmans and elephants in a wood, and these succeeded in overcoming the Indian lancers and LH on the right flank. But the enemy elephants hit the Ghaznavid spear who clung on until help arrived from the successful right flank, but not in sufficient time to save them. The battle then became fractured with numerous fights across the field. The Ghaznavids managed to kill of the enemy bow, and avoid elephant Armageddon, just !

A very close and tense game, thanks phlewis.
