Hi gents, not an excuse maker, but in a very hard phase these months: being last in Group C clearly reflects that of course. Who do I have outstanding to challenge? I found challenges from ggarynorman than never received notifications or posts for and accepted just now. Again, sorry, life is not easy at times.

Morat Ostrogothic 493-561 + Germanic Foot Tribe 260-599 allies beat ulysisgrunt Avar 558-631: 58-29

Ostrogoths just managed to hold off the Avars with their archers, and then start to use their horse and foot in combination. But this was a really tight battle (score definitely flatters the Ostrogoths).

Nijis (Blemmye) defeats Najanaja (Byzantines) 52-21.

The maneuverable Nubian defensive spear was able to corner a mostly cavalry army after their camelry - barely - managed to break the momentum of the Greek lancers' initial charge.

Div A

Deeter (Lysimachid) deteats GDod (Spartan) 12-44

Sparta was plagued with bad luck as it's left flank thureos and cav vaporized on contact making it 2-20+ right away. Spartan phalanxes fared little better when one charged a fragged pike unit only driving it back and exposing itself to a flank attack which ended the game. A valiant but futile showing for Sparta.

A tough fight but the Germans from the South East where caught in a bit of a vise with their holy relics isolated to a flank while the Imperial troops had concentrated their dismounted knights in the centre with their holy fingernails prodding three or four units on at a time. Tight and toe to toe brutal until the collapse of the Southerner's centre.

59-35 at nightfall in favour of Germans.

A very tough fight with hills and deep stream meaning a lot of movement until the fight was properly joined.
When the fight proper started the Germans had crossed the river but been stopped from getting a solid line between mountains and the river by a quick Irish attack. Dismounted German knights had the upperhand, just, over a well co-ordinated Irish attack.
German victory only finally seemed likely at the end of the 23rd turn. However, the auto-break of a German dismounted knight unit and a ridiculously impressive stand by a fragmented Gallowglass unit (who, while in downhill combat from two dismounted knight and a crossbow unit avoided rout results and also escaped reaching auto-break by about one Minstrel Boy) snatched a draw from the jaws of defeat.
That particular Minstrel will have something to pluck his wild harp about!

You're doing fine and plenty of time to finish your games. I believe you still have games against wzfcns and Indibil to complete.

Similar armies faced off. The hephalites managed to get their elephants into lancers and beat them before a large flank force was able to arrive in the rear.

A very close game, could have gone either way. Unfortunately for the hephalites, much of the combat took place in a deep stream, which was not helpful. The Sassanids were unable to really get their cataphracts into the battle. The hephalites managed to beat the sassanid right flank, and the left flank swung one way and the other.

alexhstandish (hephalite) beat Najanaja (Byzantine) 61;43.

Another very close game, could have gone either way. The Byzantine lancers were shot up and then hit by elephants, who eventually prevailed, but the Byzantines had brought several units of dismounted lancers who proved invulnerable and deadly.
