The Carthaginian foot (a multitude of random types) tried to evade the pikes separating the battle into two. While their cavalry won decisively on one field, the pikes finally closed with the Punic foot who they were enthusiastically cutting down when darkness fell.

As a new member of the exalted A league, I've noticed a distressing similarity among the opposing armies: eight b grade cavalry, two elephants, 18 random foot and as many light troops as can be had -- over and over with only slight variations. I suppose this is the new meta.
