Oboyan was no fun my first time. 1943 really challenged me and that was on Field Marshall and Manstein difficulty...I can't imagine what Ultimate will be like, except to say watching Richard plow through it made me weep.

I see no fun in ultimate mode if you have to rely on good rolls and reloads.

By the way i finished oboyan on third try with a DV. But i dont get kursk armory... is that because i didnt get a DV in yakovlevo? FFS, where is that weittent. I thought only a DV in oboyan was required. So what now i have to replay all GC 43? I am so pissed off.

you have to get a dv in both Ponryi and Oboyan to make it to the armory

Ultimate requires minimal savescumming, but I am surprised at how little I need to do. If I needed to do it all the time I would get sick of it and stop trying

I havent any save for yakovlevo but i saved one of ponyri. So i will play ponyri and the one after to get to kursk armory. I want those kv-85.

Btw: i followed your advice and upgrade a 21 nebelwerfer to a 30 one. Thats so brutal, i one shot an 10 strength artillery with it.

IMO Ponyri is a slightly easier path. You still have to be mindful of the turn counter though.

The 30 cm Nebelwerfer is great - against soft targets. Against hard targets it's a waste of ammo. And since you only have 4, you have to use it selectively.

well done my friend I have never actually faced the Kursk Armory, and do not expect to face it on my Ultimate playthrough...so well done

That wasnt easy, i need to rework my artillery, i had one fighter down to 1, another one down to 4, a couple of SPAAG and artillery were also badly damaged. The only thing that cant be damaged is the tigers

Rondorf had a +1 spotting hero, a Pz 4 had a 1A hero and my wurfrahmmen had a 2 attack hero. Pretty happy with that.

I finished the armory path with a marginal victory, i didnt bother and nor put in any effort, just wanted to get those two kv-85, and hell did i suffer. I didnt check my enemies, and some had 4/5 stars, a fighter with a captain name attacked my level bomber with 4* and took it down from 12 to 2 despite the escort. Wow thx lord, he was alone. That was close. A kv-c with 3 or 4* took 5 strength off my 5A tiger.

On the good side, a 2D fighter got awarded a 3D hero. Thats a +5 defense wow. Never had that.

I dont remember but i think it might hve been in vision range of a bunker somewhere in kursk. My fighter didnt damage it neither did my bomber. I was just glad it survived. My 13 strength 88 was just below. It was pay back time

I finished prohkorovka. Got a DV on turn 19 or 20.

I lost a 4* infantery paratrooper to a sturmovik II and a KV-C to the red guard tanks army. I watched a couple of videos before playing the map. And still suffered heavy losses, like nowotny that had to Withdraw from battle with 2 strength left on turn 5, i also forgot to guard one of my stukas and he was badly damaged from 14 to 8. A few of my arties also took a beating from t34.

A costly victory.

But any victory in Prokhorovka is a costly one, at least until we watch Soren play his battle. He makes all of us look amateurish.

He is now doing an insanely similar thing on Manstein. In fact if I remember right he had 1 or 2 points of damage on Piatek....PIATEK...on Manstein difficulty it was insane to behold.

Soren is playing very well indeed...

I have also subscribed to his youtube channel. I have watched em all on mansteinn.

I just finished GC43. Kiev43 was intense. The best moment is when you see the AI purchasing lee tanks, meaning it runs out of prestige to spam half a dozen 3* IS tanks

If you're able to use your strategic bombers and force some of those tanks to surrender, they can be nice for prestige farming.
