Generals, organising battles and picking terrain takes a lot of time, so I suggest we use the rules of King of the Hill. Shorter campaign, simple line up of the next battles.
How are you thinking about that ?

So we see two empires and those clash in the following way
Seleucid/Illyrian war Aryaman sets up battle for Hendricus
Thracian/Pontic war schmolywar sets up battle for Trogilus
Macedonian/Gallic war NikiforosFokas sets up battle for Klayeckles
Rome and Greece debate about ruling a vast Empire.

Set up very large force, very wide map, Remove the head, default force selection, pot luck terrain
If the C in C is killed you not only lose the battle but all allies revolt.

That battle would be a friendly training. You are both part of the same empire and the upstarts fight first. A pause for both of you during this year.

not sure where niki is, i haven't seen a turn in a few days. we are about half done.

klayeckles beats Nikiforokas
in an excellent cat and mouse game. initally i attempted to take his high ground and was easily repulsed...then he moved in on mine, while our mounted troops boiled around the flank. i ended up with locally superior numbers, as my mob troops and pesky chariots delayed the arrival of his flanking force. great fun!

onward to the next battle round!

I have to report a win against a great guy. Not really a fair match with my Macedonians fight against the Greeks but the ability of devoncop made it a close match. Thanks for the game.
