Excellent days gaming - well done, Will (and to the top 3 and other prize winners). A big thank you to my opponents - David, Geoff, and Raymondo - for three excellent games.

My vote goes for keeping the date/venue, and also the theme. Also, given that they are overwhelmingly infantry armies (other than the Japanese, did I have the only cavalry?), perhaps allow folks to deploy further in - say 13" and 18"?

Indeed - thanks Will and my opponents. And congrats to the top three and the other prize winners.

Dene's Mughals had some and my Koreans had 12 bases.

Thanks everyone for making yesterday a fun day to run. 8) Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did (although it did feel like I was an emperor demanding you fight for my amusement at times).
Taking Feedback on board, next time I would agree to have forwards deployment, as big units of warriors take time to grind down, and pirates and Injuns need their shooty time before contact!
Also, I will make sure I know when people need to get going by so we can finish on time rather than squashing game 3 (sorry Steve).
Yes, I will definitely run it again.
Will

Excellent :-)

One other thought I had, after both this event and also Oxford (when I took an enormous Scots Royalist army which managed not to get beaten in any of the 3 games through sheer size alone) might be to give each army a maximum break point for these 1-day events, in much the same way as was done in FoGAM 2.0... probably around 13-14?

Having lots of units is still good for maneuver, and bringing more fire to bear on one enemy unit from multiple units etc, but in time-limited games having a lower break point might be as handy as (potentially) starting closer?

Will, thanks for doing a great job ensuring a good day for all. Your efforts introducing a fun element were appreciated.

Other than the two suggestions proffered I don't think that much else needs to be changed. I would endorse both the deeper set-in (you) and BG/ break point restriction (Tim) ideas for similar events in the future.

Thanks to all my opponents ( Geoff, David & Brendon) for fun games in good spirit. Ray

List with cavalry were:
Both Mughal
Samuari
Benin
Koreans
Sudanese ( 3 and 2LH BG)
And a couple of Bucanneer's on Donkeys!
So about half the players brought some...

A very enjoyable day. Will did a fantastic job of organising and touring around making fun of people... sorry offering insightful commentary.
I only played one army with cavalry and so did not feel that they were a big problem. Allowing more than 12 base would be a problem; there were no elephants but an army with 12 elephants would have been very difficult so I would suggest that elephant bases count as 2 "mounted" bases for this restriction.
I like Tim's idea of restricting the army break point.
I look forward to next year.

Following on from (Steve's?) suggestion on mounted - perhaps if you just stated no more than 2 BG of mounted that would be simplest?

Wow - even the Beninians had gee-gees? To be fair, I only played against pirate armies - and one of them didn't even have a ship!

Like that trunkie idea Steve (there was one list with combat nellies, not just generals).
Thanks for the support and feedback.
