I found the first Norway Scenario of Grand Campaign the easiest scenario to acquire the lone wolf achievement.
You can bring 2 SE units and Oleh Dir to dominate the scenario.
(Just need a minor victory to get it)
Or the 2nd one in Allied Corps. You get heaps of auxillaries to assist in a very easy map.

Hi all,
For the lone wolf, I did it on GC 39 Lodz scenario, using only superman plus the many auxiliary units. You could also reduce the difficulty if you want. Actually that's one of the achievements that is really challenging, as opposed to many other ones which are rather a matter of grinding.
For the Guderian difficulty achievement. I did it on the vanilla game 43 east campaign it is a short one. You need a counter to the Allied air force but overall it is not that difficult. on the 3rd Scenario , Lake Balaton just go for a minor victory, then the last one in Germany is not that hard.

Well done,
We are very proud of you skyfox.
When I am all done with beta testing I look forward to setting up some kind of multiplayer tournament.
To see who is interested in determining the greatest multiplayer champion of 2016.

Just about have all of the achievements, the last one I need is Greatest American Honour. About to start the last scenario in Allied Corps and I have two tac bombers with over 800 kills and both have the Medal of Honor but no achievement. Another broken achievement?

I did get Greatest American Honor in Aug 2015.
With the tac bomber indeed.
Have you checked with 'CTRL-ALT-TAB-A' that the achievements flags are OK?

Thanks, I didn't know that was a thing but what is it telling me?

It list various flags related to achievements.
If the very first flag is set to TRUE, achievements won't unlock.

I finished a week ago the Sealion campaign, using an imported army core. Some Steam achievements worked when they shouldn't have imho, some didn't which should've. Here's a list:
- unlocked On a Roll, but not Victorious Bronze (Winning 10 campaign battles);
- gain five stars on some classes of units;
- Armored Avenger, Aerial Ace, Butcher, all on Silver;
- unlocked all Denied achievs, even though I overstrengthened one of my units mid-battle, but not Under Strength Army, even though its conditions were checked at all times.
It's obviously not related to using cheats, loading saves from a different version of the game or modifying difficulty settings, since without any changes whatsoever other achievs did unlock. So could anyone please provide some light on this matter? If needed, I kept some saves for in-detail examination.
Also how do you get Spoils of War? I've forced surrender on units defending main objectives, but never earned 200 prestige even after occupying the vacated hex.

This one is a little tricky to get.
I earned it by totally suppressing a Tiger tank of a MP opponent, RAG116 I believe,

and then force surrendering it.
You get it when you force a large unit to surrender earning at least 200 prestige in that single action.
Your other questions I am unsure of as I just unlocked them playing the Grand Campaign.
I am still working on unlocking a little less than half of them, but overall just enjoying playing this great game.

What exactly is a "a large unit"? Doing this with infantry certainly doesn't work, so are we talking about tanks only? And you don't even need to force surrender in a city hex? As far as I know, forcing surrenders doesn't bring prestige, same way as destroying units doesn't either. Or, God forbids, does this work only in MP?

No, it just seems harder to suppress, surround and force surrender expensive units in the regular game, because they do a swiss cheese type of defense.
You can do it, but you most definitely get extra prestige for force surrendering units, I use it all the time to build up nice amounts of prestige.

I finally got it in Germany by forcing surrender on the Maus on a Berlin airfield hex. I occupied the airfield in the same move but forgot to check the prestige gained. However I'm pretty sure I've never gained prestige from unit surrenders; maybe it works only on really expensive units e.g. late war ('44 - '45), dunno. Right now I'm just satisfied getting that particular achiev out of the way

. And thank you for the suggestion.
I also got Mutual Destruction, so I'll edit my original post; still no idea why it hasn't worked in the campaign, but again who cares now

.

You get surrender prestige for any unit when playing under 1.2 rules, but not under 1.14 rules. It's very handy whenever prestige is short.
The prestige is based on half the prestige cost of the remaining strength at the time of surrender.
So you have a heavily suppressed unit which can't move due to units or terrain, and no more than one entrenchment.
You attack (with a direct attack - so not artillery, naval or air), doing at least one point of suppression which takes the unit to complete suppression of all remaining strength. Your attack knocks off one entrenchment so it is on 0. This would force it to retreat but as it can't retreat , it must surrender.
Take the strength AFTER the attack.
Divide by original strength.
Multiply by half the cost.
That's your surrender prestige.
Because it's strength after the attack, you want to kill as few points as possible. Want a use for your Italian infantry? Perfect!
Divide by original strength means that if a unit is overstrength at the time of surrender you get extra. There are some units that have a base strength 1 (eg Churchills in some AK scenarios). I got about 1400 prestige from one of those once. Pretty neat.
In terms of what units you want to target:
Ones that have limited move (so you can block with terrain as well as units)
Expensive ones your artillery can suppress but preferably not kill (think about the sequence of attack on a well entrenched unit to minimise kills and maximise suppression)
Provided you can suppress enough, then the stronger the target the better.
Weak maximum strength and high current strength (eg 10/1 strength rather than 10/10) is better still.
Attack with the weakest unit that will do enough damage, so that you a) don't accidentally fail to force surrender, and b) not so much that it has hardly any remaining strength.

Is there any detailed comparison between the two sets of rules? And btw, does using one or the other set of rules have any bearing on the achievements?
Thank you for the explanation.
