I meant GS v2.1 as the current install. If you reinstall the vanilla game you need to place GS v3.0 in the same folder as the reinstalled vanilla game.

The full installer hasn't been released yet.
Hi Stauffenberg,

Is this still the case, because the installer currently available does not work for me with any version of the original game.

Should I just wait for a new installer :?:

What problems do you have? Serial number is not legal or the game not starting after you have installed it?

If it's the former you could contact Slitherine (if you got the game from them) and let them check if your serial number is valid. I would also try to reinstall the vanilla game and install GS v3.0 in the same folder to check if at least the vanilla game can be installed with the serial number you have.

If it's the latter then you might not have installed the game in the correct folder. I would try to reinstall the vanilla game with a valid serial number. Then install GS v3.0 to the SAME folder as you installed the vanilla game.

The full install won't be a solution for you because it will only be available if you purchase a new game.

There obviously are 2 separate installers for Matrixgames and Slitherine which require different types of serial numbers. Since Slitherine and Matrixgames have merged they are making a common installer now. This installer seems to only accept old serial numbers from Matrixgames and not Slitherine.

The matrix installer would not accept my valid 16-digit Slitherine serial number, but it did accept the code for my much older vanilla Matrix copy (patched to 1.12)! I then installed GS 3.00, successfully, in the same folder as the main game itself, and all seems to be well now. :D

I have voted in your poll.

Hello Everyone,

This is Gerry Edwards from Matrix Games. Currently we only have the update avaliable through the matrix site and only from the matrix mirror. We will be announcing it officially and getting it updated on all the mirrors on matrix side. I will be inquiring about the slitherine side today.

A few things to note. All serial number problems should be fixed. If you are still having an issue please re-download the new update. This is an update so you need a previous version of the game. This updater only supports versions that required a serial number.

Cheers,
Gerry

Can you please post the link to the correct version for PC and MAC. On the WEB site I saw 2 versions of each.

I see these:
* Commander - Europe at War Gold 3.00 Expansion Mac (Patches Scrolls)
Posted: 19 SEP 2013

* Commander - Europe at War Gold 3.00 Expansion PC (Patches Scrolls)
Posted: 19 SEP 2013

* Grand Strategy 3.00 Expansion (Mac)
Posted: 19 SEP 2013

* Grand Strategy 3.00 Expansion (PC)
Posted: 19 SEP 2013

What is the difference between the version flagged with patches scrolls and the version not flagged with patches scrolls

Where do we go to download 3.0? I don't see any notices up by the SlitheryOnes.

Hello my CEAW mates!!! I face a really weird issue and I need your help :? . The GS 3.00 installer accepts the serial number on my Win 7 computer... but it doesnt on my father's Win Xp one... I cant find an explanation about this since I ve installed the game in both of these computers... from the same CD... :?
ps: The CD has the 1.12 version of CEAW! Thanks a lot in advance :!:

When the full (not update) installer is released, will it be possible to access it using an existing serial number? That would solve a lot of headaches :)

Can you install 3.0 and not the original game? I own CEAW Gold....but it's not on my computer at the moment!

No. You need MH-CEAW Gold for GS v3.0 to work. GS v3.0 is an expansion. If you purchase a new game then you will get the GS v3.0 full installer that will also include the CEAW basic files needed for the game to run.

I think the full installer will only be available for those who purchase CEAW. This is the main reason it's not released yet. It has to be integrated with the WEB site where you purchase the games from Slitherine and Matrixgames.

Works great for me. I uninstalled everything, then followed Matrix's instructions. I can seem to stop playing it!

Well, I thought everything had installed fine, but now that I actually go to play, I find the map is not the newer version. There is no Albert Canal.

Why this couldn't just have been a normal install is beyond me. Any idea(s) on how to fix the map?

You probably placed GS v3.0 in the same folder as GS v2.1 and didn't get the map tiles recompiled.

Remove the 3 *.dat files in the folders:
image\background
image\backgroundnames

Then restart the game and go through all 3 zoom levels to get the new tiles. It will take some time until all are compiled.
