just caught up with this amigos. its either anglo dutch, later imperial spanish, hapsburg austrians or later imperial autrian for me as we speak. ive been using anglo dutch at the club cos its a decent army and can have superior scots regiments. whats not to love. the spanish were bloody good too though and had some decent jockies 'n cuddies. finally decide on the eve of list entries as usual. see y'all at the basho. hunter.

Looks like quite a few Anglo-dutch and Spanish as expected surprising the Later Imperial Austrian is looking popular, though to be fair that list can be anything and I imagine Dave Allens is totally different from the one I played last year. How did you vs John go

Alasdair, I managed to get the better of Hunter on Thursday although he has had the Indian sign over me for the last few weeks.

Don, you give my intelligence far too much credit if you think I could come up with an encrypted clue like that as to what my army is. Either that you have been watching the film "National Treasure. "
I suspect my final choice will be far less exotic than something from the Indian sub continent. Mind you Hunter has been observed at the club whistling tunes from the musical " Pocahontas" so perhaps there is a subliminal clue there.

Yes I think a lot of the armies will be quite traditional this year, though with Richard Young and Don McHugh we should get at least 1 army from the indian and African continent, most of us down south have got to play our silly armies in the one day events, this year I have played Hadhramaut, Rajput, Scots Covenanter, Hejaz, Later Imperial Spanish, Later TYW German, Early Polish, and after Britcon am playing Irish and then Chinese, so lots of games and lots of fun

Started my blog diary here.. 30 days to go

As for horses .. I can take my licks, been there done that.
What can I say Simon as ever the first few you have done look brilliant, My friend Derek did well with them last year at Campaign so they have potential especially as I think they'll be far more foot than mounted this year

Yes, Hunter the Sudanese are definitely available for you to rent. My rental rates for Britcon are very reasonable this year. Almost as reasonable as those for a pay day loan.

If needed I have the Qing more than welcome to borrow it, I'm using it at warfare so decided not to take it to Britcon

I can confirm that Hunter has definitely selected a Munchkin army as it gives him an army to look up to. He thinks he will be a Wiz with them although I think he has mentally gone over the rainbow or on some way up high. When he gets to Britcon he will turn to his imaginary dog Toto and declare " Toto, I don't think we are in Perthshire any more."
(Historical fact - did you know that in the Wizard of Oz, Toto the dog was on a higher salary than the actors playing the Munchkins.)

(that's 'cos the dog was a better actor...) indeed given some of my results at Britcons passed, the dog might be a better dolly player than I am too...

Be fair Hunter. Some of us have to work out our list from scratch rather than just copying another player's list from the Tim Porter site!!

You need to give Hunter some credit John, he must have done some forward planning as Tim's site is currently broken. Unless you think that's his fault too...

I can certainly give Hunter credit for copying it several weeks ago before the site went down.
