Announcement by the Senate of Rome:
On the 6th of March our glorious fleet sighted a combined Cilician/ Bithynian Squadron south of Byzantium. Although outnumbered our brave commander turned to give battle. Two mighty cilician Octeres tried to ram our flagship and to break our formation, but our fleet turned and isolated the Bithynian flagship. The Bithynian commander was taken as prisoner by our boarding parties. After a bloody clash the enemy fleet retreated for safety. We´ve captured two bithynian Penteres, lost one Trireme and one
Quinquireme. The outcome was a roman minor victory.
3 pts awarded to Keyth for supporting the roman fleet.
Breaking news:
Praetor Keyth defeated, Legatus GrudgeBringer drawed and Legatus Batesmotel won during the Battle of Cyzigus.
Legatus Kilroy was defeated by Seleucus VII
Kilroy and Batesmotel promoted to the rank Pro-Praetor, Pro-Praetor Kilroy assigned as Governor of Sicily, Pro Praetor Batesmotel assigned as Governor of Illyria

ATTENTION
Announcement by the Roman Senate:
1.Due to the stalemate in the Battle of Cyzigus the Roman Senate came across to confirm the rulership of Prusias of Bithynia. In return Prusias agreed in releasing Nicomedes IV from prison in order to send him to Rome. We´ll grant exile to Nicomedes IV. Additionally Prusias guaranteed to provide no naval bases for the Cilician Pirates within his kingdom.
2.Rebellion in Cappadocia. Gordius, a client of Mithridates and Tigranes claims the throne of the legal ruler of Cappadocia, King Ariobarzanes.
(Battles will be fought by the Moderators – no Roman engagement)
3.The Senate of Rome is worried about the outspread of activities of political motivated gangs within the walls of Rome. The Senate decided to put an end to these criminal actions and assigned Burinus Agricolae and GrudgeBringer to Aediles. The Aediles will have to fight 3 battles against each other, the winner will be promoted to the rank of a Quaestor. Afterwards the prevailing Aedile will be allowed to fight Tribunes who have taken control of a specific object, like the Slave Market. In case of a victory for the Aedile he can take an amount of points from the defeated Tribune, that equalizes 1/4 of the Tribunes points total. Additionally the Quaestor can commence prosecution (will be explained later on)

Health and well-being to Licinius Galba,
It is true that the Roman Republic owns approximately 50% of the mining interests as you say, but it is you that is responsible for managing them efficiently. If you cannot manage the mines properly I will petetion the Senate to have you replaced by someone more capable...

Klaus, you've got a great narrative going here!

Pro-Praetor Batesmotel paroles one of the other raiders to carry a demand for ransom for the Prince to his father. The demand for ransom will include a note that in future his son would be better off if he was to spend his time raiding the Pontic state or some other minor kingdom rather than incurring the wrath of the Senate and People of Rome.

ATTENTION to Pro-Praetor Batesmotel
A messenger arrives in Salona, capital of the Province of Illyria. The messenger enters the court of Pro-Praetor Batesmotel and says:
"Hail, Roman. King Burebista refuses to pay ransom for a man, that surrenders to the Romans, as he couldn´t be a relative of the King hinself. This man has to be punished for his insolent lies.
So King Burebista demands extradition to his court !"

ATTENTION - to Pro Praetor Kilroy
Licinius Galba returns to the office of the Pro Praetor: "Hail, Pro Praetor! It seems like you´ve forgotten, I´m the legal owner of 50% of the mining cooperation too. Mighty friends in Rome will support my request.
So reconsider your decision or it might be you, who´ll be replaced. However, we can negotiate on this subject, I´d offer an amount of a talent in silver ( worth = 3 pts) for your back up in running the mining activities sufficiently."

A messenger has been dispatched with to King Burebista with the following:
"Hail, King Burebista! You need not concern yourself then with this insolent commoner who tells such insolent lies. He will be sentenced to slavery with the other raiders captured with him and sent to the mines in Sicily."
The captured raiders have been prepared to be sold as slaves for the mines.

The court hears Archelaos' arguments and has seen his document. Does M. Metellus have any documentation to support his claim?

It is unfortunate that Archelaos has tried to hoodwink us with forged documents. The Court finds for M. Metellus and condemns Archelaos to gladiator school.

Announcement of the Senate of Rome:
To share the power even with the poor, the Senate of Rome hereby restores the Tribunes of the Popular Party. Hereby Tullius, Tiavals and Fedem are assigned as Tribunes.
Tribunes will be awarded 3 pts for every new player they recruit for the tournament. Additionally they are in command of street gangs that fight for control of the city.
At the moment the control over the slave market of Ostia is at stake.
The Tribunes have to challenge each other, means two games each, the winner controls the slave market of Ostia and benefits from every roman victory by 1 bonus point.
An army image for use in these street clashes will be send by email.
Tiberius Gracchus Musculus here again. Appears since a sabeteur has unleashed a paprys (ravenious moths?) virus, all my previous correspondance is lost... Instead of repeating my massively large and suitably eloquant speach, I will be brief. House Musculus is eager to enter the fray of Roman doubledealing, backstabbing and carnage. House Fedem-icus has opened the door for us to beseach the wise Senate ( and of course will revieve the apropriate political favours) if we achieve such a favourable audience.
Cheerio!
