There has been no response from Mike this week so I have made an arrangement for a temporary stand in so that we can start phase two of this handicap challenge at the weekend. The Gray Mouser has agreed to play in Mike's place on a game-by-game basis - that is, until we hear from Mike and find out how many games he can play (he still has two unfinished games from the first phase that I would like to have concluded). The schedule for the new tournament will be posted on Saturday and players may start their matches straight away.

Fedem, can you choose one of Burgundian Ordonnance, Later Medieval Swedish or Maximilian Lowlanders please?

Noble line-up for phase two (425pts) . . .

hidde - French Ordonnance later
davouthojo - Later Medieval Danish
ericdoman1 - Later Medieval Germans

davouthojo (Low Countries Maximillian) 43/36 vs eric (Burgundian Ordonance) 24/38

Bowfire and having uphill adantage on one flank told in the end. Based on results I think the Burgundians are the toughest. Pete, might be worth having a dual table, not only results from the switch around for the players but also how the armies perform. That is after the first round, 1) Burgundians 2) Swedes etc. This new round if Burgundians are first again, it will prove my point.

I am ready with my depleted German forces.

From the 6th to the 9th April I will be house sitting and so will not have use of my computer for games.

Thanks for the comp Pete.

I'm not sure about the Burgundian Ordonnance being the toughest, Eric. I don't read the armies anywhere as well as you but I would have said that the French Ordonnance (later) was stronger. I did try this series some time ago now . . .

Also, I would prefer Later Medieval Germans, Maximilian Lowlanders and Medieval Danish (with German allies) to the Burgundian Ordonnance.

Regarding Mike's "disappearance". I am going to give him until the end of Sunday 8th April to get in contact with us. If we do not hear by then I will adjudicate the two outstanding games in this tournament and TGM will play all of Mike's matches in the 4th invitation event.

Unfortunately Mike has had to withdraw from this event due to work commitments. His two uncompleted games will be awarded to his opponents, namely Fedem and hidde.

1. ericdoman1..............5.....5.....0.....0.......1......21.....Noble....WINNER
2. hidde.....................5.....4.....0.....1.......1......17.....Noble

5. stockwellpete............5.....1.....1.....3.......0.......6.....Peasant

Pete, I got a turn from Mike a short while ago.
To late for me to do my turn so I don't know if he writes something about the tournament.
Thought you should know in case there has been some misunderstanding.

Anders, the arrangement that I made with Mike was that I would adjudicate his two unplayed matches in this tournament and that TGM would replace him completely in the new tournament. He is not going to have much access to FOG until mid-April, I believe. Perhaps he wishes to continue your match as a "friendly"? :?

Yes, he wrote as much in the game chat.
I proposed we continue in whatever pace is possible. It's an interesting, very tactical start.
We have spent six turns marching and counter marching and are hardly any closer then when we started!

Well, if you want to play it to a finish, even if it takes to the end of April, I am quite happy to un-adjudicate the result. Same goes for Federico's game against Mike. I don't want to bog you down in "dead" matches but if you still want to complete these two games then please go ahead. If you can just let me know what you have decided in the next couple of days so that I can amend the results sheet and re-calculate the table.

Sorry, I meant I suggested to him we continue as a friendly.
Either way is fine with me.
