I was a stupid guy to begin with Basically I have the same concern, looking at the previous posts I get the impression these are not intended for Steam. Or at least there are subtle yet important differences... I can't help but notice nobody replied to the previous post in about a year. Hmm. Panzer Corps seems pretty quiet. Evidently I picked the worst possible time to get into the game! Especially since I only got the basic game (no grand campaign, just the basic axis european default stuff) and now steam is indicating I can't get anything more because "it already exists in your library and you won't get another copy of panzer corps gold". Oh dear.

In my experience there is no need for GME. I do not use Steam, but play the PC version on my Mac Air.

If you create a Mods folder next to your Save[Games] folder you can just drop the mod in and play it.
~\Documents\My Games\Panzer Corps\Mods

Some mods like BfE work better if you edit their campaign file. But most work fine.
Note: you may have to add a GUID[.txt] file if the modder assumed the use of GME.

I should add I bit the bullet and bought panzer corps gold despite the scary warning. Works fine! Also that Pacific Corps screenshot looks awesome. I'm a little disappointed there are so few naval scenarios for multiplayer in panzer corps, although it is understandable.

How do you install GME on Windows 10? Everything looks totally different than these steps shown....

I have W10 and there is not different to W8. If jsgme is in zip format, dezip in my document, for example. Now you have the JSGME exe. Put the JSGME in the game, Panzer Corps for example. When you click on the icone JSGME this create a folder called MODS. Put the mod inside and click on the arrow > Normally the mod you want to use is in the availabla mods. after clicking on the arrow the mod is on activated mod. Close JSGME and play with the mod activated.

It does.

i still don't get the new 1.18 into the correct folder, i placed in mods folder but not showing up. i think i have the target and the start in boxes messed up on the JSGME desktop icon.

is target supposed to be the same as start in?

The "Target:" is the folder with JSGME.exe in.

The "Start in:" is the folder where Panzer Corps is installed (that is, where the Panzer Corps.exe is), for example, C:\Slitherine\Panzer Corps, although yours may be different.
