I agree it's a very portable title for other periods.

Not an ancient or medieval-period author per se, but there is 'On the Field of Glory' by Henryk Sienkiewicz: http://www.amazon.com/Field-Glory-Henry ... 078180762X. So there is some connection to the period.

Well it seems to be that the miniatures people like it, and the rest of us forum rats do not. Since it's a miniatures game, I suppose that works.
