Hmm... 2 pending? I just started the match with Morbio, so that's 1, but I'm not sure who my other competitor is...

Gumblefish, I don't see the results of a game between you and Gudin.

P.S. Bear? What bear?

You dont know the bear, that is too crazy, it is too wacky, now you must fight the bear!

(maybe that will give you a hint....)

Sorry, still mystified by the bear. However, I have this game to report:

Deeter (Ipsos Alliance) 20/58 vs. Morbio (Carthage) 68/66

The Punies proved that MF spears should never attack pikes uphill in the open.

Well, I think Kilroy has accepted the match I posted for Gudin, so I'll post another one for Gudin. Password, Diadochi :)

Any news on remaining games? I'd like to get started on round two by the end of the weel.

Grumblefish is marching on Carthage as we speak (turn 4), contact just made between MF and LF, no casualties so far!

No sign of Gudin despite the taunting. I have my scouts trying to find his army, but no luck so far! :(

I hope gudin is not MIA -- it will throught round two out of whack. And besides, whomever wins their round two games can win the tourney regardless of how they fared in round one.

P.S. I meant to type week in the previous post, not weel. :o

Yes, my army is just about to crush Morbio's men, but I haven't had any contact with Gudin at all.

Grumblefish (Hellenic Sparta) 62/62 vs. Morbio (Carthage) 52/66

Another win for the might of Carthage! :D

A tough game which was always going to be a challenge when the masses of Superior Hoplites lined up across the battlefield from the masses of Average Spearmen! A few factors ensured the Carthage victory;
- The use terrain by the Carthage MF and LF to advantage.
- A good combination of Impact and Offensive MF to beat the Sparta MF in the forest and swamps... with a smattering of elephants too.
- The many sacrifices to Baal... which ensured the good fortune for the brave warriors of Carthage! AKA good rolls at the right time! 8)

It was a tough match, very very close at the end. Morbio is right about the terrain; I really mismanaged my army on my left, and the right was so so. Still, Morbio's entire centre dissolved at one point. It was so close the game got frustrating during the last turn when I had cavalry attacking from the rear actually lose and a series of other disasters, because every breakpoint mattered; my main line was going to reconnect with the remnants of morbio's heavy infantry, which I hoped would end it. GG overall although I wish I played it better.

Sounds like a good fight. So that would leave the Morbio vs. Gudin match to wrap up Round 1, correct? If Gudin is MIA, I wondering how we should proceed to Round 2... maybe give whoever would have faced him an automatic win? I'm open to suggestions.

Hmm yes an automatic win sounds nice. :)

I could do with the win to boost my sad win ration :D However, I'd prefer to play it because ultimately it's about the fun of playing rather than the stats, but I also appreciate that we can't wait forever if Gudin is MIA. We could wait a long time only to find he never returns :( So for that reason I suggest moving on (either scrap all his games or assign wins to those remaining). You will need to find a new player to take over Gudin's spot, but I suspect that will be relatively easy to achieve.

Real life may have caused Gudin's absence. I'll PM him and if no timely reply, will recruit a replacement. He's running the Macedonians, so it shouldn't too hard.

OK, I apparently didn't even know I had two outstanding games. I don't spend a lot of times on the forum, and thought I'd PMd everyone for whom I needed a match. Anyone who wants a match, feel free to PM me. I'll try and accept Morbio's if it's still there.

I don't see morbio's so I'll post two challenges, both will be password "gudin" just to shake things up.

Sorry for the delay, I thought I was done.
