Just want to say that I really hope for a Ren version. I'll pay whatever price you find appropriate(within reason) :D

I second this , i would love a renaissance FoG game as well.

I want to see better grapics of the units. These are so 16bit looking. Where's the polished units like TS games have? I want my units to shine on the maps. And pahleeezze get rid of those ugly bases and put TS bases on them. Take a look at Tin Soldiers units and bases I really enjoyed this series and colorful units and bases though the maps left something to be desired as well as FOG's maps.

Ian S and Hidde

I third that request. However I do understand Ian McN's comments. If an experienced design team say it will be more costly but for a smaller target audience I can see how the economics may not work (especially for a relatively small company that may not be able to carry a loss leader). I say this as someone for whom FoG:R is ten times a better game than FoG:AM and 100 times more interesting as a period.

Personally, I would like to see 30 years war, then the late 17th/early to mid 18th century. This may start breaking through the basic game mechanics however.

FOG:R

I really would like to see FOG:R! I will buy the game and each expansion that you bring out for it. I love miniature games and have the books, but it takes a lot of money and time to build all those armies, Digital FOG games let us play all those armies we cannot afford to build in miniature. I do not think you will have any problems making money with FOG:R, same for FOG:N

Thanks!

Hah, I appreciate the graphics and do like them, but this would be nice. On the other hand, I assume a lot of hardwork would be lost and it'd basically be a whole new game and engine.

So, Slitherine, can you spill the beans on when you next plan to make a Ancient Greece themed game? Lately we've seen Battlefield Academy and Hannibal, but I want to see a remake of your old Sparta game, or something similar. Seeing as this thread is on a different topic, nobody will look here, so can you give a secret announcement here on when we get some more hoplite action? I promise not to tell anybody.

Great game concept, love multiplayer. +1 for better graphics and terrain.

Well I've bought into 3 games of this series but until the AI improves a whole bunch I'm not buying into any more. I don't see a reason to sink money into a game with really no ai to speak of. It's s tough call which ai is worse this one or the Total War ai pre Shogun 2 and post MTW. Cmon Iain you guys used to have one of the best ai's and challenging games out there with Spartan what has happened to your ai programmer? He get fat and lazy?

Better unit graphics for me too. I was particularly disappointed with the medieval units (Essex Miniatures?! In 2011?!) and probably won't bother with Storm of Arrows for that reason.

Last Five Books

We have two more books to go that are shown in the FOG Digital Army Builder but do you have any idea when we will start seeing the last five books that have not been mentioned? These are some of the expansions that I most looking forward to seeing. Thanks

It's TBD on those. There are some very large books with so many troops types we're not sure we can do them 1 for 1 so might have to pick the most popular parts and combine them together in to a couple of Lost Scrolls type releases.

Have you considered raising the price if there is THAT much more content for some of these books, instead of breaking them up? I personally would prefer that, not sure how others might feel.

The issue is we are likely to put people off we we raise the price and then end up with less revenue than a normal price. We'll keep reviewing it and see what can be done.

What about divide the books in two parts and that way be able to have all the armies?

Although I doubt it's feasible it would be nice if you could buy individual army lists, like tracks from an album.

In every book there are plenty of redundant or just plain meh armies that could be ignored. In know this is true of the Asian book. I only bought it for the Samurai lists which weren't very thrilling, but I'd still like Asians on the PC.

BTW: since this is the roadmap thread, it was stated some time ago that the range in combat results would be narrowed somewhat. Will this ever happen?

Well, let me say I'm quite disappointed about the way Slitherine is conducting herself in the management of the add on expansions.

In fact, though I understand that the strong feature of FoG lays in its multiplayer engine and in the related DAG system, wich are indeed very good, it is also to be said that, despite some early reassurances, neither the minimum effort seems to have been made about improving the AI capabilities (so that at the moment I continue to win easily also with a 500 pts army vs a 650 pts, moving no more than 1/3 of my units per turn), nor for example any attempt has been ever tried to make the DAG system avaliable for hot seat matches or to give the players the possibilities of carrying the saved army lists into the scenario editor, in order to make it much more easy the design of new battles. Wich, in my opinion, testify that the team has substantially given up any idea of improving the game, only offering with the expansions some new battlegroups graphics (wich hardly justifies the price of a single title).

And now, after having spent about € 140,00 in this game, you guys dare to say that "Swifter than the Eagle" and "Oath of Fealty" are not going to be published??????

If I may understand that books like "Empires of the Dragon", "Blood and Gold" & "Lost Scrolls" are somewhat peripheral in respect to the time and space frame of FoG TT (including Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East from the beginning of the historical period to AD 1500) not the same can be said about the other two titles.

How could be possible to set aside the Sumerian, the Elamites, the Pharaoh Egyptians, the Hyksos, the Hittites, the Myceneans, the mighty Asssyrians, the Medians, the Babylonians, wich all had such a big part in history?
How could be imagined to leave a hole in the aforementione timeframe for Western Europe between 1000-1300 AD, remaining without the Navarrese, the Feudal French and Germans, the Communal Italians, the Feudal Scots and the Plantagenet English, the Berbers, the Feudal Polish and the Teutonic Knights?

When starting the selling of the game a pact has been made with the customers that this time & space frame would be respected and I planned to spend my money just awaiting the release of, at least, these two other books.

Now it’s your time to fullfill your part of the agreement!

Finsh the expansions right

Please finish the expansions right.

I love the the game.

Yes the computer AI is very bad, but it is just an AI after all and it is the multiplayer that keeps me coming back for more anyway.

Only two out of the last five books are large, and you can break them down into two parters because of the size. Nobody will even bat an eye over that and will purchase the expansions.

We also expect to see FOG-R and FOG-N as well. So please take the Osprey titles seriously.

If you split the two big books up into two and do the complete expansion list then that will give the game 15 expansions.

Completing these expansions will reflect directly onto Slitherine's reputation.

This is especially true since your company in online and therefore a global business.

Dump the Asian and Native American Armies and it will impact your global standing as a company and is very bad PR.

Thank You
