What kind of list did you use for Kushites?

I have that army from DBM and have been fiddling with some lists under the new rules. Curious to see what others have come up with for the mightiest army of all Egypt.

Kushite.

2 BG LF JAv 6s
2 BGs LF Sling 6s
1 BG CV unprot LS
1 BG LF Archer 6
2 BG MF Archers 8s
3 BG LCH Egyptian Chariots Bow sup Dril
2 BG Kushite Armd Sup LS Sw 4s
1 BG HCH Kushite Bow
4 TCs

The list has a few things I wanted to experiment with 'cause. Note beacuse i was convinced. MF undrilled archers and more LCH than CV.

One issue is it is hard to coordinate the Heavy and Light chariots. So you need to not deploy them in the same area. Or watch the lights evade and leave the Heavy's to fight.

The Undrilled Bow are a BIG liablity and I would consider 6s and putting them LATE in the deployment order. They are just way too vulenerable to enemy foot.

For all the firepower in this army which I would rate at c+ the enemy IC was a problem. It is a wide army and the enemy IC will likely need to pick one end of the field.

Your list does have considerable firepower but what about melee punch? From looking at the list in STE I'm guessing that the Hch are the way to go if you want to have that punch. Just my two cents.

Thanks for posting your list!

I used (in deployment order):

2 x 8 LF Bow
3 x 8 MF Bow
2 x 8 MF Warriors LtSpr
2 x 4 Cv Protected
1 x 4 Cv Armoured
2 x 4 LCh
1 x 4 HCh
4 x TC

All the foot were Average, and all the mounted Superior: all were undrilled. This list was at least partly dictated by what I had available: I used all the warriors I had, all but 6 MF bow, and all but 4 LF bow. The cavalry included my Egyptians, and a mounted general. I do have lots more light chariots painted (24 total plus generals), and the models for another 8 heavies, as yet unbuilt.

The Protected Cv made a good stab at taking on the Assyrian HCh alongside my HCh, the Armoured Cv supported by shooting from the LF chased off LH and LF in rout, and then stalled on superior Cv, who kept winning the melees because they had got one frontage into some MF archers.

Two of the MF archers saw off one 6 base Protected MF LS/bow combo, and might have nailed the other, but they were charged by HCh, and eventually broke.

Things I got wrong:

I deployed the LCh around the HCH, and they would have been better alongside the Armoured Cv, and their place taken by MF Archers - they weren't manoeuvrable enough once they'd evaded from HCh to get back in the fight quickly enough.

I should have deployed the MF in 3-3-2 formation, rather than 4-4. This would have spread my opponent's attacks across more units, but also given me a shorter line to manoeuvre with.

Despite ending with pretty much all of my army in my opponent's half off the table, I should have been MORE aggressive with the whole army, since he managed to shift some troops across his rear to change the focus of his attack.

I probably should use all heavy chariots, or all light: one heavy unit didn't cut it - although my opponent only had two HCh units, he did have a good number of armoured cavalry, albeit about half were only average.

A good, fun, game against an enjoyable opponent, and the most successful first innings for any of my Egyptian armies so far.

Yep, that is one of its issues. Although when you flank charge someone that gives you lots of help.

I used 3 Bgs of HCH in my Dynastic Egyptians. I leanred to always expect what group of cahriots to collapse. Chariots in general are not big on POAs even the heavies. So you need to be shooting and manuver oriented.
