[Poland] "For your freedom and ours" - Za Wolność Waszą i Naszą Campaign/Kampania v1.0 (24/07/25)
Za Wolność Waszą i Naszą (For Your Freedom and Ours) - historical campaign
. .
Campaign Introduction
Za Wolność Waszą i Naszą
For Your Freedom and Ours
Poland, September 1939
"Polska nie zginęła, kiedy my żyjemy..."
("Poland is not lost, as long as we live...") — Mazurek Dąbrowskiego
The summer of 1939 ends with tension stretched to the breaking point. The clouds of war have gathered once more over Europe—and Poland stands alone at the crossroads of history.
On 1 September, German forces launch a sudden and brutal assault on the Polish Republic, striking without declaration and with overwhelming strength. Waves of panzers tear across the western frontier. Stukas scream over civilian convoys. Border outposts are engulfed in flame.
Yet Poland does not surrender.
From the mountain passes of the south, through the forests of Kampinos, to the Baltic coast, the nation rallies. Regular troops, border guards, cavalry brigades, rail engineers, factory workers, and citizen militias form an improvised shield. The Polish Air Force launches desperate sorties from improvised airfields. Naval troops make heroic last stands in coastal fortresses. Armored trains and tankettes race to delay the invader.
This is not a story of victory.
This is a story of valor.
A story of unity—of a people who stood against impossible odds, not only for their land, but for a principle etched into the Polish soul.

I love the thought of playing a short hopeless attempt to stem the tide of German advances where opportunities for limited victory's are still possible, without being able to actually win. Like the Grand Campaign, only in a shorter limited form.nikivdd wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 6:25 pm Campaign Introduction

Re: [Poland] "For your freedom and ours" - Za Wolność Waszą i Naszą Campaign/Kampania
I can already reveal that the campaign will not end after a mission defeat. Perhaps it will be an incentive to replay to reach a more favorable outcome.I love the thought of playing a short hopeless attempt to stem the tide of German advances where opportunities for limited victory's are still possible, without being able to actually win. Like the Grand Campaign, only in a shorter limited form.
And for some reason the Polish core army will be saved at the end of the campaign.
Stay tuned for more information.

Lovely! Will you continue this with Polish contributions later in the war as part of the other Allied campaigns? We all know of the famous cases, but I'm sure there are others I don't know of.

Re: [Poland] "For your freedom and ours" - Za Wolność Waszą i Naszą Campaign/Kampania
The next posts will give more detailed information of each mission.
Scenario 1: Border Guards at Węgierska Górka
Polish title: Strażnicy Granic w Węgierskiej Górce
Date: 1 September 1939
Type: Static defense of fortified border bunkers
Location: Southern Poland, Silesian–Carpathian foothills
Węgierska Górka is no fortress—but it is all we have. Our border bunkers, manned by a handful of KOP and Army units, must delay the German 7th Infantry Division as long as possible. We fight with limited supplies and no air cover. But we will hold the hills.
Scenario 2: Poznań in Peril
Polish title: Poznań w Niebezpieczeństwie
Date: 2 September 1939
Type: Delaying action, hold-and-withdraw
Location: Greater Poland region, west of Poznań
The enemy has crossed the frontier in force. Our job is not to stop them—but to slow them. The city of Poznań cannot fall in the first week. If we hold these roads and towns long enough, the main body of Army Poznań can reposition east.
Scenario 3: Steel Rail Defenders
Polish title: Obrońcy Szyn Stalowych
Date: 3 September 1939
Type: Mobile defense
Location: Idzikowice–Opoczno rail junction, central Poland
Idzikowice is more than a station—it’s our last working junction west of the Vistula. If we hold it, we can still move troops. If we lose it, we lose the corridor to Warsaw. The armored train Śmiały is here. Engineers, hold the bridges. And if you must—break the line before they do.
Scenario 4: Retreat from Kraków
Polish Title: Odwrót spod Krakowa
Date: 5 September 1939
Type: Fighting retreat
Location: South of Kraków, Lesser Poland
Kraków is lost. The order has come: withdraw toward Tarnów and protect the eastern flank. The 10th Motorized Cavalry Brigade will hold the passes and delay the German 14th Army. Cavalry, engineers, and mountain units must work in unison. Fall back—slowly—and with fire.
Scenario 5: Cavalry in the Kampinos Forest
Polish Title: Kawaleria w Puszczy Kampinoskiej
Date: 6 September 1939
Type: Ambush and mobile defense
Location: Kampinos Forest, northwest of Warsaw
The woods are our ally. Our cavalry and scouts have hidden among the trees. The Germans won’t expect an ambush here. Use the forest paths, strike from shadows, and then vanish. Protect Roztoka. And let them learn what Polish cavalry really means.
Scenario 1: Border Guards at Węgierska Górka
Polish title: Strażnicy Granic w Węgierskiej Górce
Date: 1 September 1939
Type: Static defense of fortified border bunkers
Location: Southern Poland, Silesian–Carpathian foothills

Re: [Poland] "For your freedom and ours" - Za Wolność Waszą i Naszą Campaign/Kampania
Scenario 6: The Battle of Bzura
Polish Title: Bitwa nad Bzurą
Date: 9–12 September 1939
Type: Counteroffensive
Location: Bzura River Valley, west of Warsaw
For the first time, we counterattack. The German flank is exposed west of Warsaw, and we strike with all available forces. Cavalry, tanks, and infantry will surge across the Bzura. This is our chance to force them to pause, to bleed—and maybe, to believe in us again.
Scenario 7: Lublin Air Bridge
Polish Title: Most Powietrzny nad Lublinem
Date: 13 September 1939
Type: Defensive operation with air evacuation and supply
Location: Near Lublin, central-eastern Poland
The airfields near Lublin are our lifeline. If we can evacuate wounded, high command staff, and supplies, we’ll live to fight again in the east. But the Germans are coming fast, and these strips aren’t fortified. Buy us time—every hour is precious.
Scenario 8: The Industrial Line – Stalowa Wola
Polish Title: Linia Przemysłowa – Stalowa Wola
Date: 14 September 1939
Type: Urban defense, demolition, and infrastructure denial
Location: Central Industrial Region, Stalowa Wola – Tarnobrzeg
These factories represent the last intact industrial power in central Poland. If we cannot evacuate them, we must at least deny them to the enemy. Engineers are prepared to demolish bridges and key equipment. Hold the line. Burn the plans. Make the steel useless to the Reich.
Scenario 9: Flight Through the Forests
Polish Title: Ucieczka przez Lasy
Date: 16 September 1939
Type: Fighting withdrawal and ambush
Location: Biłgoraj Forest – Roztocze region, southeast Poland
We are not attacking, not holding—we are surviving. Our task is to escape the forests of Biłgoraj and preserve what remains of the core. Expect panzers, air strikes, and encirclement. But we know these woods. We know how to vanish—and strike when they least expect it.
Scenario 10 (Alternate): Chaos at Kowel
Polish Title: Chaos pod Kowlem
Date: 17–18 September 1939
Type: Multi-directional retreat, rear-guard ambushes
The world has collapsed. Germany crushes us from the west—and now, the Soviet Union has crossed the eastern frontier. Our army is no longer in formation. We are bands of fighters, scattered, half-supplied, and surrounded. But we are not finished. We must escape. One more forest. One more fight.
Scenario list for part three: Twilight Resistance
11.Lost Army of the East (Zagubiona Armia Wschodu)
12.The Siege of Lwów (Oblężenie Lwowa)
13.Border Skirmish at the San River (Potyczka nad Sanem)
14.The Przemyśl Corridor (Korytarz Przemyski)
15. Flight or Fight? (Ucieczka czy Walka?)
Development update:
Scenarios 1 to 13 have been tested and tweaked. Scenario 14 is being created.
As soon as the remaining scenarios are finished and tested, i will make this campaign available for download.
These 15 scenarios are the first part of this campaign, more will follow.
Request: does anyone has pictures of Polish infantry and Airmen? Preferably in 115px115p in .png format. Thank you.
The screenshot is how i reached a triumph in scenario Lost Army of the East, losing two core units on the way...

We are not attacking, not holding—we are surviving. Our task is to escape the forests of Biłgoraj and preserve what remains of the core. Expect panzers, air strikes, and encirclement. But we know these woods. We know how to vanish—and strike when they least expect it.
Scenario 10 (Alternate): Chaos at Kowel
Polish Title: Chaos pod Kowlem
Date: 17–18 September 1939
Type: Multi-directional retreat, rear-guard ambushes
The world has collapsed. Germany crushes us from the west—and now, the Soviet Union has crossed the eastern frontier. Our army is no longer in formation. We are bands of fighters, scattered, half-supplied, and surrounded. But we are not finished. We must escape. One more forest. One more fight.
Scenario list for part three: Twilight Resistance
11.Lost Army of the East (Zagubiona Armia Wschodu)
12.The Siege of Lwów (Oblężenie Lwowa)
13.Border Skirmish at the San River (Potyczka nad Sanem)

Scenarios 1 to 13 have been tested and tweaked. Scenario 14 is being created.
As soon as the remaining scenarios are finished and tested, i will make this campaign available for download.
These 15 scenarios are the first part of this campaign, more will follow.
Request: does anyone has pictures of Polish infantry and Airmen? Preferably in 115px115p in .png format. Thank you.
The screenshot is how i reached a triumph in scenario Lost Army of the East, losing two core units on the way...
