Some sources about the Régiment des Cuirassiers du Roi during 1670-1700 :

1) According to Historian Louis Susane in Histoire de la cavalerie française (tome 2, p. 65...), The Cuirassiers du Roi participated in most battles of the period, such as :
- Crossing the Rhine in 1672 (start of the Franco-Dutch War)
- Siege of Maastricht in 1673
- Battle of Seneffe in 1674
- Siege de Dinant in 1675
- Battle of Cassel in 1677
- battle of Saint-Denis in 1678
- Siege de Courtrai and Dixmude in 1683
- battle of Neerwinden in 1693
- War of the Spanish Succession
- Etc.

(French Cuirassiers during 1670-1700 are also mentionned by other Historians)

2) In his account about the crossing of the Rhine in 1672, called Relation du passage du Rhin (p. 105...), Armand de Gramont, Count of Guiche mentions several times the Régiment des Cuirassiers du Roi and his Mestre de camp-lieutenant (leader), Charles Amédée de Broglie, Comte de Revel.

3) In a drawing showing the order of battle of Cassel (1677) made not long after the battle, the Régiment des Cuirassiers du Roi appears :

4) Alain Manesson Mallet, in his treatise of 1684 on the French Army named Travaux de Mars ou les travaux de la guerre (tome 3, p. 102), mentions the Cuirassiers in the chapter on the French Cavalry of the time :

translation : "The Cuirassiers are horsemen armed with Cuirasses that are bulletproof (pistols). They are a regiment led by a Mestre de Camp, a Major, etc."

5)...

Thank you, Lysimachos, for the kind words.

There are indeed many references about this regiment. A few others :

1) Map of the siege of Philisbourg by the army of Louis XIV in 1688 published the same year :

2) Louis de Gaya, Lord of Tréville, Capitain in the regiment of Champagne under Louis XIV’s reign, describes, in his book L’art de la guerre et la manière dont on la fait aujourd’hui en France (1689, p. 198), the Régiment de Cuirassiers du Roi as one of the main French cavalry regiments of the era.

3) Modern historians mention this regiment in their writings, such as :
- L. Susane. According to him, this regiment dates back to 1638 and has continued without a break throughout the period (till the Revolution and even after under another name, according to the idea of continuity of the traditions of the French regiments).
- Fr. Chauviré (in books and papers),
- R. Chartrand, on page 208 of his Armies and Wars of the Sun King 1643-1715, Vol. 3 : The Cavalry of Louis XIV.
