Server Message about Different Scripts or Data

When I loaded the second turn of one of my league games, I got a server message that I've never seen before; something like: "The other player's scripts or data do not match yours. Ask the other player why they are different. It is recommended that you abandon the game..."

I asked the other player what, if any changes he'd made, and he said that all he did was the update, as I have done. I've never seen this message before, despite playing lots of MP games.

Can anyone shed any light on what might be causing this message? So far I've continued to play the game, do we need to restart?

Maybe because the previous turn was done with the previous version and scripts have changed. Though usually a different message is shown when this occurs after an update.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it unless you get the message again on a subsequent turn. You don't need to restart.

FYI, I got the message in turns 2 and 3, but not in turn 4; the other player said that he re-installed the update, so that seems to have fixed it.
