support ships need elite healing

for years now, I have seen people requesting that support ships be given the option for elite repair of other ships (the earliest I saw dates all the way back to 2011!).

this is still a good idea. it is wayyyyy too hard to heal ships during a scenario with no harbor, for example. plenty of those in various campaigns involving ships.

it would be different if using a regular heal took away less experience. but it takes far too much.

here's an example from Kriegsmarine, scenario two:

destroyer with 2600 experience is down 2 strength (so 8/10).
if I use the supply ship to heal it for just those two points... it loses SIX HUNDRED experience points.

that's unacceptable.

if you won't modify this for the generic supply ships, either add one that will do this, have it be a specialization (7 point early specialization gives supply ships ability to elite repair, for example), or just tell me how to mod it too just add elite repair to the generic supply ship and I will do it myself.

Good post.

I would argue that repairing a ship using a support ship is a mechanical repair, not replacing personell.
So there should be no loss of experience here.

agree. I would mod it, but I think they never added that as a special ability, so there is no code for it. also, I know people have wondered why the repair ship... can't repair itself. I thought they added this a while back, but I guess not.
