Hey guys, I posted this one up on the Steam tech support section but I've had nothing back. Thought I'd drop it here with a bit more detail (Logs, etc) in the hopes of getting some help as this is a bit frustrating.
"I've been getting CTD's on occasion during gameplay, which consist of the screen going full grey, then black, then completely transparent and basically minimizing and becoming totally unresponsive. Only thing to do is close/forcefully crash the game and then relaunch.
I've been having this happen during missions. Sometimes when it's extremely hectic, other times when it's pretty calm.
Once when I caught it fast I had a pop up in the lower right saying something about my graphics drivers completely failing/crapping out, but it'd be gone as quickly as it had turned up. I tried updating my drivers to the latest version however the problem persists."
DxDiag, Output log and most recent save files where I've had it occur are attached.
The issue feels pretty random, any help I could get would be greatly appreciated.

Re: CTD during gameplay
thanks for the report
on first glance, as a developer would need to look deeper into it
Free Space: 9.2 GB (as this is your main system drive, this isn't a lot of space left, but should be more than enough for the game, unless you have too many apps and programs loaded each boot)
High Definition Audio Device drivers are also old and out of date 11/20/2010
option for me, as your vga is upto date,
unload or disable as many boot up apps and programs you can which will free up some resources and try again, a cleaner profile is always recommened

Re: CTD during gameplay
Main drive is an SSD (where the game is mounted), which is why I tend not to worry about using up lots of space. I'll free some up regardless.
Supposedly my audio drivers get updated with my display drivers, those HDAD drivers may be my motherboard's onboard stuff. I'll have a look into it and see if it's being used / if it can be updated.
Thanks for the quick response, I'll look into those two and report back, but I'm not sure how long it'll take for a repeat of the issue as it's very inconsistent in when it likes to happen. I've gone an entire session (Good couple of hours +) and had no problem, other times I've had the issue within the first mission or two of a session.
I'm hoping a dev can look into it.
EDIT: 32 GB now free on the SSD, ran the auto-updater for the HDAD drivers and it's gone for the latest ones which are apparently from 2015 - That's intriguing in itself. Main processes running are Avast, Steam, Discord and Chrome + whatever game I'm playing such as Deadlock. PUBG and XCOM 2 are usually very happy with that loadout and they are pretty leaky games. I've not touched backend services yet as I'll be honest, it's been years since I even looked at what half the services do and I distinctly remember closing things haphazardly can be very bad.
Gonna run Deadlock for a bit under the new conditions and report back.

Re: CTD during gameplay
the only reason i mention size of space is windows wants a larger or large temp file that windows use, plus some games will also.
avast is a pain tbh, but best way is either add game folder so avast safe list, or run game as admin, and then run avast in gaming mode
and see if that works any better, good luck

Re: CTD during gameplay
New conditions did not help, game CTD'd again, and at an admittedly annoying place too (4 Adamants and a Manticore vs 4 Cereberus, a Talon and an Arachne and against all odds I was pulling it off).
New symptom in play, my Discord window was open (though not at the forefront) and now has a black screen. A quick restart fixed it, but that's curious.
If Avast is interfering with it, it's doing so very quietly, normally it likes to make a lot of noise, eat files for quarantine, that kind of jazz.
DxDiag and Output Log attached.

Re: CTD during gameplay
Other than when I'm messing around with troublesome mods, I think I've had very few crashes - maybe less than a half-dozen in hundreds of hours, and that's with a very heavy mod order.
I can say that trying out new mods and paying attention to conflicts is extremely beneficial - (MO2 is awesome in helping with that).
The key to crashing is determining which mods are causing it and either trying to fix them or simply not using them.

Re: CTD during gameplay
...This is a thread from 2017 with issues from a game (Battlestar Galactica Deadlock) that doesn't allow modding.
