Boot Camp campaign - free?

Post by whovian223 »

Hi

Apologies if this is in the wrong part of the Order of Battle forum.

This game does look fascinating and I love all of the content for it, but I wanted to try it out first to make sure that I would actually make the time commitment. It's a lot of money to spend on a game system that I end up not playing.

The Order of Battle page says: "The free version of the game gives you access to the unique Boot Camp campaign as well as a taste of the first chapter of every other campaign pack."

I understood that to mean that the entire Boot Camp campaign is free, but it doesn't seem to let me move past the first scenario.

I exit and it goes back to the main menu. Starting the single player there, if I choose Boot Camp, puts me back at the first scenario.

Am I misunderstanding, or am I missing something?

Is there only one scenario? I didn't get that impression.

Thanks for any help.

The free version should give you the entire 4-scenario boot camp, as well as the first map of every other campaign (Japan, Allies, Morning sun, Marines, Finland)

Are you selecting the campaign by clicking on the star at the top of the map of Eurasia? That's how to access the campaign.

Yes, I am doing that.

When I launch the campaign, I get the first scenario again.

When I load the saved "end of scenario" turn and then press "end turn," I get the victory screen. Clicking out of that takes me back to the main menu.

I don't see any way to access the second scenario. I get the map, but I don't see anything I can click to choose anything but the first scenario again.

Do you click on the Exit button?

Also make sure that you have the last update installed.

Yes, I click the "Exit" button.

I'll check to make sure it's updated.

Thank you!

Edit: Version 2.6.8, so I think it's fully updated.

Download the saved games and unzip them to the fame save folder (...\Documents\My Games\Order of Battle - WW2\SaveGames).
One ([Boot Camp] Auto Save (Turn End)) is the last turn of the first boot camp first scenario. The other ([Boot Camp] Auto Save (Campaign)) starts with the introduction for the second scenario.
Load the first one and click on the end of turn to button. Can you proceed to the next scenario?
If not, load the other. and try to finish it and let's see if you can proceed to the third scenario.

I was able to go onto the second scenario from the first one.

Not sure what's different between yours and mine, though.

I'll come back if I can't continue. Thank you so much for your help.
