Are logans radioactive bunny's?

Are logans radioactive bunny's?

For most non humanoid species in Polaris sector it's fairly obviously where the inspiration came from. Sharatar are cats, Drills are crocodile's, Havikan are hawks or vulture's, Vagalar's are koala's or Panda's, Urgans are lizards. Erians are either fish or humanoid i'm not sure.

As to logans, obviously they are mutated, giving the species theme i was wondering what they might have mutated from in the mind of the designer. If it were my guess, they would have been originally bunny's, is that correct?
