Is 'response fire' AA from cruisers or destroyers?

Is 'response fire' AA from cruisers or destroyers?

Post by GottaLove88s »

Guys,

Paying more attention to your animations now... When an enemy aircraft attacks one of my units within AA range of my destroyers, there's an AA response fire animation from the destroyer(s)... but NOT from any of my cruisers, even if they're within AA range...

Does OOB calculate the air defence including ONLY destroyers within range? Or for cruisers too? It makes a difference how I organise my convoys...

(I'm only asking because destroyers don't actually have an active AA function during my turn, but cruisers do... And, tbh, I've yet to score a hit with AA 'response fire' from a destroyer... despite playing at least 50 attacking aircraft versus destroyer fleet protection interactions across about 10 MP games now)

Thanks

In my playing experience Destroyers are providing automated supporting fire and Cruiser use AA ability during their own turn.
