Firstly I'd also like to say that whilst this seems like a wish/complain list its not. What it is is a list of things that I feel would enhance a game that I'm already greatly enjoying playing. It's been great fun this far in its own right as a game and I look forward to seeing the DLC later this week as well as seeing what else comes for the game in the future (big hints that Tau and Eldar might appear soon in the intro video as they are picked out and shown up-front to use - but Chaos and others will be fantastic to see in-game).
I was also rather pleased to hear a voice actor I think I recognise from Warrior Kings (the commissar). I think its the same guy - even after all those years since that game.
So now onto the list of thingies

1a) A victory score page when one wins or loses a match. Could be as simple as how many turns it took, but would be nice to get a little statistical break down from the match - things like how many units were lost etc... It's quite a common thing in most strategy games and the game feels like its missing something without it.
1b) Tied to the first point it would be great to have a rankings page on the main menu of the game. So that we can keep track of the senarios we've played and the score we got - or tie it into the mission selection page under the map/details. Basically a way for us to see at a glance how well we did in a mission and at different difficulties - even if its just showing the "top score/number of turns/points etc.." per difficulty.
It would be a great feature for replaying the same maps and improving as a player without having to keep a notepad handy to record it.
2) In the senarios menu it would be great to see more detail. Instead of a rough area map with a flag; show the actual map of the mission play area. An idea of units we get deployed - the size of the armies etc.... would all be very helpful when choosing what we want to play (esp as the community and company make more and more maps for us to play on).
A list of names as it is now is rather difficult to pick out a fun new mission to play if we've no idea what we are getting in-for.
It would also be an ideal thing to allow us to play senarios on points not just on pre-made armies so that we can "build" our own army for a game not just use the premade (though I appreciate that this would also mean that the AI would either be easier to beat with a fixed default army or would need coding to allow it to make a decent choice at picking its own army roster).
3) Story Presentation - story presentation; esp between tutorial and campaign could do with another few panels to introduce us to the fact that the orcs have landed. Unless I manage to skip a section without realising it we go from "we are going to poke this big rock in the sky" to " orcs are landing run for the hills" in almost no time with no change of state presented. A minor point in story telling; but I feel that story telling is important to get right in the singleplayer aspects.
In other words fleshing it out with some more depth would be fantastic.
4) Linked into fleshing the game out with more lore and depth into the world it would be great to see a "library" page on the main page. Something that lets us see the whole army ranges installed within the game (inc any mods/addons/DLC expansion as they are added). So we can see all the armies, compare, contrast and just view them without having to launch into the game as a specific army (and on the right map that allows selection from the full army rosters).
If this could go further and have written lore of units that would be even better - concept/design art etc... (appreciating that many entries will be conbined for the lore where one has tanks or units with the same core features and only different weapons - though that depends how far and how detailed the lore goes of course).
5) Visually in the game it would be nice when using troops to see all the units firing when they attack not just one. For special weapons (like rocket troops) where only one is firing that's fine as its the only one holding the weapon - but when you've a group of lasgunners and only one is actually firing it seems very odd.
