Music in Drive on Moscow

Post by blahblah3502 »

What are the music choices (names of songs etc) for the radio in the DoM? I love that you kept and built on the music/sound design from BotB! One of my favorite parts.

It seems that both German AND Soviet songs will play when you are in your briefing folder, regardless of which side you are on. Is this a bug?

I wonder if Franz Liszt's Les Preludes made it in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_ ... ical_theme

Yeah, the idea of an "invasion theme" for each victim is really amazing. The Liszt is piece is wonderful!

I really appreciate that you included the March of the Defenders of Moscow to the playlist. Here's the lyrics with the English translation

The song is still very popular here. It's played everywhere, for ex, on almost every Dynamo Moscow KHL game, especially in the playoffs.

You don’t mean at the same time, do you?

Miguel says: German music from the period that is also public domain was not readily available. Lili Marleen was specifically requested to be carried over, but there were no other songs reused from Bulge.

Thanks for enjoying the music. Here the playlist:

Farewell of Slavianka (Прощание славянки - Proščanije slavjanki )
A Russian patriotic march, written by the composer Vasily Agapkin in honour of the Bulgarian women accompanying their husbands in the First Balkan War

Katyusha ( Катю́ша )
Composed in 1938 by Matvei Blanter with lyrics from Mikhail Isakovsky. Written just before World War II, the song depicts a girl longing for her fighting military husband.

Lili Marleen
Written in 1915 during World War I, the poem was published under the title "Das Lied eines jungen Soldaten auf der Wacht" (German for "The Song of a Young Soldier on Watch") in 1937, and was first recorded by Lale Andersen in 1939 under the title "Das Mädchen unter der Laterne" ("The Girl under the Lantern").

March of the Moscow Defenders
Music: B. Mokrousov Lyrics: A. Surkov Singer: Ans. im. Aleksandrova 1942г.

National Anthem of the Soviet Union ( Государственный гимн СССР, Gosudarstvenny Gimn SSSR )
The lyrics were written by Sergey Mikhalkov in collaboration with Gabriel El-Registan and the music was composed by Alexander Alexandrov.

The Sacred War ( Священная война Svyashchennaya Voyna, also known as Вставай, страна огромная! )
One of the most famous Soviet songs associated with the Second World War. It was written by request of Joseph Stalin in 1941, just predating the beginning of the German invasion of the Soviet Union. The music is by Aleksandr Aleksandrov and lyrics are by Vasily Lebedev-Kumach.

I really enjoy the original music composed by John Schiciano and Chris Latham in both BotB and DoM. The main themes in both are wonderful. Very different but very catchy in their own way. Any chance of a separate soundtrack release?

Music in Drive on Moscow

Post by Thomasgex »

I have 2 DS. One is used for datastorage and the second one for media files.
I tried to mount a folder from the "Datastorage DS" where music files are located to the Music drive of the "Media DS". This seems to work fine I can see the music files on the music folder on the "Media DS" but when using Audiostation there is nothing present ?

Any idea how this can be solved ?

Thanks in advance.
