The other question I have is whether any further thought has been given by the team to the possibility of automating some of the scenario development options. At the moment scenario dev seems like a slow and rather laborious process, and I have to admit that (even as an ex programmer) I haven't delved into it very far after some initial enthusiasm. One of the ideas floated was to have a more menu driven option rather than having to go in and edit files by hand. Any thoughts?

Where next for the P&S team???
I'm wondering if Richard and his team have had any further thoughts on what period of warfare they'll be working on next? I know there was some enthusiastic debate about this when P&S was first published, with suggestions varying from stepping backwards into the Medieval and Ancients period, going forward into the Age of Reason, or slipping sideways into other theatres of Renaissance/P&S warfare. So - any thoughts people in the know might like to share?

Work is in progress on dlc for Pike and Shot, and on the next big period covered by the system. Announcements will be made at the appropriate time.Miletus wrote:I'm wondering if Richard and his team have had any further thoughts on what period of warfare they'll be working on next? Once again, we are looking into this. It requires major changes and nothing is going to happen overnight. The other question I have is whether any further thought has been given by the team to the possibility of automating some of the scenario development options. However, I would note that for MP scenarios there is really no need to script anything or edit any files by hand (apart from the very short .LST file that tells the program where on the web to look for the content). The program will already use the SP default victory conditions if there is no scenario script and everything else should work fine without any scenario script.
For the next update we plan to have multiplayer scenarios default to using adjusted (according to disparity of forces) default victory conditions if there is no scenario script, and have the details that show in the left hand corner of the screen show the default SP or adjusted MP victory conditions without a script.
