Setup screen at the beginning of the game
Is there a switch to start the game with that will just use the default settings for resolution. Playing a lot of multi-player, it gets a little old having to "OK" past that screen every-time

Re: Setup screen at the beginning of the game
Hello jjknap,
Sure, no problem at all. I've changed the settings so that the dialog is hidden by default. If you want to display it, you need to will need to hold the shift key down while launching the game. You'll get this change in 1.2.0.
Cheers,

Thanks so much!

Hi all,
in 1.4.0 I still get the setup screen. And there's an option to change the key for "jump"...?

Re: Setup screen at the beginning of the game
Hello dergilb,
Unfortunately I had to bring the screen "back", because I realised it wasn't going to be obvious to newcomers that they had to press the alt key in order to bring up the resolution configuration dialog. The game engine would only give me three options: 1) show it all the time, 2) hide it but bring it when pressing the alt key, 3) don't show it at all. So I went for the first one.

Hi Nacho,
thank you for clearing this up. Is it possible to skip it via parameter?

Re: Setup screen at the beginning of the game
Hello dergilb,
No, apparently you can't. There's this option 'show-screen-selector' (see the documentation here), but it's used for forcing the screen selector dialog. AFAIK, there's no option to hide it. I've also tried specifying '-screen-height' and '-screen-width', but the screen selector keeps showing up.

Hello nacho,
thanks for the info. Looks like the only way to suppress this is by allowing to change the resolution at runtime. I.e. a fixed (=low) or guessed (=current) resolution for the first start with an in-game option to change resolution for the next start and beyond. Well, if you're bored...
