is it a Notebook or a Workstation game?

Post by thefrenchjester »

Hi,

I have downloaded one of my Field of Glory V2.0 on the Notebook of my daughter ( yes, I bought two ;-) ), seems to work well, no crashes, all seems OK; but my other Field of Glory V2.0 I bought for my Workstation still not load, stopping at 0.001MB after the download of the book ?????

uninstalled the antivirus
firewall disconnected
tried to change the resolution of the workstation
still not working!

the only question I have for the moment is ( sorry if it's seems stupid for some people more aware than me on new technologies) : she's got Itunes installed on her Notebook, is it helping to download the V2.0 or is it just because Field of Glory V2.0 digital only works on Notebooks ?

hope it will helps to understand why it doesn't work on my workstation?????

Best regards

Sorry you are having problems. Do you mean a desktop PC when you say workstation? If so then it should have no problems on either. Please give it another try and let us know if you have further problems.

Hi Iain ,

sorry , yes it's a desktop PC( when I say that I'm not ggod with technology ;-) ), tried to download more than 10 times, as I said in my message called "stopping loading", still having the problem , tried many times in different configurations on the desktop PC having only 0.001MB loaded on each book and when I try to open them, it's stops with the message " loading issue-please wait " and don't go to the " coverflow" message ;
I have downloaded it on the notebook faster than than I can type the message and it works well on it, I don't understand why it doesn't work also on my Desktop which is twice times more powerful ??
all the details on my desktop computer are in your message asking about the the problem we met with our configurations if it can helps to investigate;

it's very disturbing for a conservative player like me, who like so much the books, to have so much problems for my first downloaded ruleset;

I hope you will fix the issue;

Best regards

Just so I am clear is the issue downloading the installer or is the issue after installing and trying to download the rulebook content package?

Is there a difference in how the 2 PC's connect to the internet?

the installer seems to do his job, the folder are in the program files( 86x)
the first time I tried to download the books, I put my email adress and the serial numbers, then I waited the down loading time, the folders seemed to be installed, I saw the the folders downloading on the screen, but when I turn the info page there is only 0.001MB and when I click on the books to run them it stops with the message "loading issue-please wait ... ", it was the same problem on my old desktop when I tried the 2 folders I bought ;

my main desktop is connected to a Freebox (my internet provider) broadband case , the othersare connected with a secured wi-fi connection coming from the box, the old desktop is not working and the Notebok of my daughter is working correctly ( downloaded and read the rules and the companion normally) ;

hope it will help;

Best regards
