New computer - FOG disc won't load

Hi,
I have the FOG disc and all the additional modules on Cd. I've recently switched to a new computer and FOG won't install on it.
The message I receive is: 'The version of this file is not compatible with the version of windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32 -bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the programme, and then contact the software publisher'.
My system is a 64 bit operating system with Windows 7 ultimate on an Intel(e)core tm i5-2450m cpu@2.50ghz.
Can you assist, please?

Sorry you are having problems. It shouldn't be an issue to run on any version of windows. Where did you get the disks? Could they be damaged? Have you used them successfully before?

Thanks for the response. Bought both the discs (all of them, including the most recent Battles one) and the downloads online (the discs are marked 'Plimus'). I didn't have any problems on using them on my old machine and the FOG disc hasn't been damaged - I get as far as the autoinstallation, click on that and then get the message described. I've only tried the master disc, not the additional ones on the new machine as, of course, I need the first to use the rest.

Just to clarify my answer to your question, all the modules were purchased from the Plimu online store.

Can you try navigating on the disk to the installer exe and running it manually. Maybe try copying the installer to the desktop and running it from there.

Tried this but get the same message about incompatability. I've tried the windows compatability check but still it won't install or run. Any other ideas?

Which version of the installer do you have? Could you give us the full name of the exe you are using?

Any further suggestions here? I have a pile of discs purchased in good faith that I'm currently unable to use.

We use a very simple standard installer and it worked on your previous PC so something with your new PC is the issue or the disks have become damaged. I don't know what to suggest really as the issue is not in the installer but in some conflict on your new PC. You could try uninstalling your virus checker and trying again - this is one of the things that can cause problems. Many virus checkers stop games from running and there is no work around other than removing the virus checker. The issue is it with some other piece of software on your PC not the game and there isn't really anything we can do about it unfortunately

The disc doesn't appear to be damaged in any way and there is no reason why it should be. I've recently switched security programmes (both are reputable and widely used) and the same message was recieved with both. Will you exchange the master disc if I return it? (like for like).

I got exactly the same problem with a new PC
I tried to install swords and scimitars and this time the installation started (but could not go further without FOG)

You don't need to install any of the expansions in case you have the base game updated.
The last patch is embedded with all the expansions you only need to unlock them. So please follow these steps after having installed Fields of Glory:

1. Download the update/patch (1.8.1) from the link below: (please jump to step 3 in case you have the base game updated)

2. Unzip the download file. Run the extracted file to update the game
3. Double click the Field of Glory game icon (launcher) in the desktop
4. Click on the "Serial..." or "Register Army Pack Serial…" button
5. Select the expansion pack you wish to unlock
6. Enter serial number for expansion pack
7. Select "Enter Serial"
8. Repeat the steps for each expansion you might have

It seems that your installer is corrupted or your player is not correctly reading the media inserted. Send an email with your order details to support[at]slitherine.co.uk and we will provide you with a download link for a new installer.
