Temporary suspension of Paypal payment service on Matrix Games and Slitherine sites

The Matrix Games and Slitherine shops will temporarily be unable to process Paypal payment as of December 9th. This is due to the fact our e-commerce provider Plimus are changing the way they work with PayPal and during the transition we will not be able offer this as a payment option. The PayPal service should be back online in January 2012. Unfortunately, this was completely out of our control and the news did not arrive in time for us to make alternate arrangements that would provide an acceptable level of service. We realize this could not come at a worse time, which is why we are giving as much notice as we can so that customers who planned to purchase in December with PayPal will have a chance to make those purchases before this disruption. This means if you want to buy with PayPal you must do so before December the 9th! We are hoping to have PayPal service back online before the Holiday Sale ends but we can’t guarantee this, as it depends on Plimus completing their re-integration by then. The only way to be sure you can take advantage of our great offers and pay by PayPal is to buy before December 9th or use a different payment option.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but we have tried to ensure there are plenty of other payments methods that you can us in the meantime:

Credit cards - all the major credit and debit cards are accepted. These include: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, DinersClub, American
Express, Carte Bleu, Maestro, Solo, and JCB.

Other options you may use: Moneybookers, e-Checks, Direct Debit, Local Bank Transfers, Wire Transfers, Fax Orders, Mail Orders, Phone Orders

If it is not possible for you to pay with any other method other than PayPal and you cannot buy before December 9th then we have one more alternative for you. We have partnered with two of our top dealer stores, one in the US and one in Europe to allow you to purchase boxed products via them using PayPal. Hmm, this does suck. I've had to use pay pal for all purchases through matrix and slitherine. No other method seems to work and my mastercard isn't recognised whenever i try to make overseas purchases (i'm from Australia).
I sure hope DLC 41 campaign comes out before the 9th.

I'm trying to buy Panzer Corps right now and it's not available Paypal. Will be solved today this problem ? because i want to buy this game and today is the last day at 50%, isn't it ?

I know it is annoying, but it happens sometimes and is at random extra security, basically it is against fraude and internet criminality and misuse of Credit Cards and Paypal.

I had it once myself and hated to wait upon getting approval...

The best thing people can do is making sure you use Verified Paypal and Credit Card accounts, it usually guarantees faster payments and less at random security checks by Credit Card holders or Paypal.

In the end it is for the security of all us online honest people, the battle against internet criminality is a cat and mouse game and we only know the tip of the iceberg...

So don`t blame Plimus, there are nasty bastard hackers and just plain criminals out looking to hack and rob your account... and sometimes these extra security checks happen. They are necessary and without our control.

No disrespect, but I am intimately familiar with online payment clearance issues due to my professional occupation and I know there are better ways to handle the credit card risk & fraud management. Anyway, I got the confirmation e-mail so I'll shut my trap and go enjoy the fruits of your hard labor.

I have just ordered DLC 41, directed to Plimus, paypal option was selected , details filled in,and then returned to Plimus with
" Dear Shopper,

Thank you for your order. Unfortunately due to a communications issues with PayPal we are not yet able

I only found this topic by chance. Customers should be informed of this prior to ordering and not have additional hassle.
This should have been handled much better than this.

Paypal is still currently operational. We were told it would be turned off on the 9th but it is still currently working. If there is an issue it is not this - please formward your order details to info@slitherine.co.uk and we'll work it out and get you up and running ASAP.

Apologies for the confusion. We do not know when PayPal will be turned off, but for now it is still on...
