Late Samurai list

Post by irondog068 »

Since I am now doing a late Samurai army I got a question for the brain trust:

For each Samurai or Samurai cavalry unit you need 1 Ashigaru unit.
Is it unit for unit or base for base? Base for base makes more scense since if you are good with you points you could have 3 units of 8 samurai with 3 units of 6 Ashigaru.

But if it is base for base you would have to have the same Ashigaru as Samurai which, makes more scense to me
15mm: Swiss, Spartans, Late Republic Romans, EIR Romans, and can you believe it Samurai. 800 points
28mm: Late Republic Romans 650 points
28mm: Samurai 800 points

Hi,

I think that what answers your question is that for each battlegroup of Detached Bushi that you get, you also have to have a battlegroup of Detached Followers. I do not see any limitations on the composition or numbers of these BGs - they can be as large or as small as you wish (as far as bases are concerned), armed with whatever you choose and of the quality of your liking.

The only BG that I remember escaping that rule is the "Detached followers behind standing shields" BG, which can be taken anyway, irrespectively of the Detached Bushi/Detached Followers ratio.
